bmw_22 @plaidperfect Hi! 😁 Hopefully this is helpful... when I first started I had no idea what people would like/buy so I just grabbed a few things from my personal closet that I haven't worn in a while (or ever lol), took some pictures, wrote thorough descriptions and listed them. I think I listed only 4 my first day and it seemed like it took me forever! Lol. I think I'm getting faster now. 😊

bmw_22 @plaidperfect My mom and my sister gave me some of their clothes too. If you look at my 4 sold listings, 3 out of 4 of them were items my sister gave me to sell. She's super trendy. It seems like really cute and trendy clothes do well (more so than basics or staple type items - I could totally be wrong but that's my experience so far).

bmw_22 @plaidperfect So my advice is to start with what you have in your own house and just see what people start responding to and go from there. I've heard having good pictures is key as well as sharing other people's listings because then they will share back and they will probably have much larger followings than us newbies 😉 Plus sharing is caring! And Poshmark is all about the love 💕😁🙌🏼

I think you also have to decide if you're going to sell things quick/cheap, or are you ok with them sitting in your closet for a while as you wait for a buyer who's willing to pay a little more for your item. There's no right or wrong way to do it, just whatever is best for your goals 😊

bmw_22 @plaidperfect Hopefully that is helpful!! There are some waaaaay more savvy and successful people who you could search out and follow and read the advice that they've given to others in the past in their threads. I did a lot of that in the beginning too so I recommend that too. 😊💕

bmw_22 @plaidperfect Thank you so much! ☺️ I absolutely adore that skirt, it's vintage, it was a lucky find when I was thrift shopping years ago! Because it's vintage I'm afraid to wear it too often, but I did bring it along on my Philippines trip last year which is when that picture was taken. 💕

plaidperfect @bmw_22 Aaww thank you, that's so nice of you to say! I just put my stuff on a white poster board that I had laying around & photographed everything next to a window to get the natural light. I used my iphone in HD mode. Next time I'll use the square feature since Poshmark cropped all my photos into squares & it made the wallet pictures a little blurry! We'll see if anything actually sells!

bmw_22 @plaidperfect Hi! 😁 Lol yes the fitting room... it's still a mystery to me too! Earlier today someone made me an offer and a few hours later I tried to find it and I couldn't! Haha! I had "lost it" in the fitting room somewhere because I didn't know where to go to look for it! 😂 I ended up just scrolling in my news feed to the time when the offer was originally made and used that link. LOL.

plaidperfect Haha it IS so me! My husband and I built that "moon" and we got married in an art gallery! You know me so well, probably because you're my best Poshmark friend! :D I don't know if a government job is you or not. I'm still deciding. I feel like it kind of sort of is but not 100%.

I'm super grateful for it, but it's not very me at all 😕 Now if my job was to "figure people out" like you mentioned, oh man I would love that!! A lot of the books I read and YouTube videos I watch are about emotional intelligence, the power of body language and the subconscious mind, etc etc... I'm kind of a giant nerd actually 🤓

plaidperfect I love that you're interested in learning about what makes people tick and act the way they do. I also find that extremely fascinating. I just figured out that I'm empathic, which I didn't even know was a thing until I started looking into why I always feel everyone's emotions around me. It's quite draining to always know what people are feeling, especially when you can tell what they're feeling about you!

plaidperfect I wish there were an easier way to talk on here. They need a messaging feature. I'm still entirely confused by the dressing room. Someone liked two of my items and I'd like to give them an offer but it doesn't seem possible unless they make a bundle or I publicly make the offer in the comments, which seems too pushy and tacky. How long after your first sale did you make your second sale roughly?

BUT I just figured out why I'm not getting notifications that you've written to me!! I was watching a YouTube video on Poshmark (trying to brush up my skills lol) and she said that unless we're using the "@" symbol in front of a person's user name, they won't get a notification that we've written to them.

bmw_22 @plaidperfect About sales... I didn't make my very first sale for a little over 3 weeks, but then after that they started coming in fairly consistently. The 2nd sale was only 2 days after the 1st one. Haven't had a new sale in about a week, but that's ok because I know I probably need to list some new things 😊 I agree, with you, I would love a better messaging system! Are you on Facebook? Messenger?

bmw_22 @plaidperfect Yes, I believe you are correct, you can only make someone an offer if they move their "likes" to the "bundle" section (and yeah, probably mixed opinions on how pushy/tacky making a public comment to them is). One thing you could do is do a "direct share" of your "make me an offer" listing to that particular person! I don't think that's too pushy, especially since they have liked multiple items and it's done in private. 😊

I'm also a real estate investor and have 2 tiny little side business I'm trying to grow. I'm insatiably curious and adventurous, so a career that lets me be wild and free would probably be best!!
