If posh mark wasn't so greedy with the over priced shipping, things would be quite different. leanderandhero @veggigoddess I totally understand the hair thing! I'm hopeless at any complicated hair style, so I just keep it long & do an updo for a change. My grandmother was in her 20s during the 1940s, & I asked her once how they managed those styles on a daily basis. She said "practice, hot oil treatments, curlers or rags, & lots of bobby pins".

I have heard it's good to have all one length hair to do a victory roll, which I haven't had all 1 length hair since I was in my teens.

leanderandhero @veggigoddess I've never tried the victory roll- I can see how one length of hair would help. Back in the days of goth clubbing when I'd do styles that required height & staying power, I found that plain old Aqua Net hair spray (along w/ the teasing & pins) was a go to. It's kind of smelly & a bit sticky, but it worked.

leanderandhero Hairsprays really were! I don't know how we didn't suffocate half the time. My mom used to use Salon Selectives often when I was a kid, & I could smell it before she walked in the room. That & the strong 80s perfume she liked. Ugh!

veggigoddess @leanderandhero That's my childhood right there! Salon Selective was my jam lol. The shampoo and conditioner always smelled like Apple. I bet you anything that all of the hair sprays from the before times have caused different types of diseases and cancer in people without it ever really being known. We think everything is toxic now, but before, there was actual chemicals and poisons targeted towards people for regular daily consumption.

The Victorian women using arsenic & silver nitrate, & then all the "better living through chemicals" & "Dr. s recommend this cigarette", etc. I'm sure it had major health repercussions that are probably still in all our genes now. I drive my husband nuts with insisting on organics, bpa free stuff, & natural hygiene products for our son, but I'm adamant.

I've been on Etsy since 2009 selling strictly vintage. Started on posh selling non vintage & decided to try selling some of my vintage items, most of which I also have on Etsy. So far it's been pretty decent on here! You should try Etsy too though.

veggigoddess @tanlegsintx At least for my skin tone, which has pink undertones, I had to go with the red lipstick that also had pink undertones & also bluish undertones. Opposed to Orange undertones. Also, I use nude lip liner instead of a red one because the red lip liner makes the entire lip color bleed quicker and wear off super super fast! Do not ask me why! I do not have the answers

veggigoddess @rorylarue It's a new feature that posh has apparently been rolling out for weeks. It just became available to me today. At some point, on all of your listings, before you need to click the edit button, you'll see a price drop button in the bottom right hand corner. It will allow you to send a private offer with a discount on shipping to anyone who has liked that item. I'm just testing it out on my items to see if there are any takers to see if it's useful or not.

veggigoddess @blinghill Honestly, the biggest problem that sellers have on posh mark is the constant stream of lowballers. Initially, it's pretty easy to just write-off and ignore them or block them, but eventually, all sellers get more low bowlers and they get legitimate offers. Posh mark doesn't do anything to stop it, so we just have to deal with it. Otherwise, it's really positive.

veggigoddess @blinghill I realized that I had to set guidelines many months back. I jave been selling since late June of last year. I'd say one out of every 3 offers I get is a lowball offer. And sometimes to the point of just ridiculousness! The most I'll except in an offer is 20% off the asking price and that's only if I've had the item up for many many months. But lowballers think that they deserve 60 plus off the listed price lol it's just an amazing form of self importance

I had an item listed for $7, which as you know, means that Poshmark gets $3, so my "profit" is already at $4, not taking into account the purchase price, time and effort listing, etc. So, operating at a loss already... And someone offered me $4? Wow. That could be insulting, but I try not to take anything personally.

veggigoddess @blinghill Yeah, it doesn't matter how cheap your stuff already is, someone will already almost always think they deserve even less & they don't take into account what we make at all. Couldn't be less of a concern for them. Honestly, I realized pretty quickly that there is no reason negotiating w/then. If I get someone who low balls me to and insulting level, I just block them. When I didn't do that, I would counter offer & then they would counter offer again even lower.

veggigoddess @magiedcat If you're interested, I am in 2 different vintage share groups. It's just a good way to promote your vintage stuff. I sold a lot more vintage after I joined the 1st 1. I think I sold may be 2 of my vintage items before I joined and I sold at least 20 within the 1st month after. So it definitely helps!

veggigoddess @magiedcat Don't worry, we all feel like that when we're new here. It took me probably 3 months to really start listing a lot of stuff. I tried to keep it under a certain number for a while but almost got addicted to listing stuff. Especially once you start selling a lot of stuff, it's a big motivator to list fresh stuff. My best advice would be to have at least 60 items up at any given time. people definitely like variety in if anyone's gonna seriously bundle, you wanna have plenty of stock

veggigoddess @magiedcat I can tag you in one or both of the groups. But honestly, I would say start with 1 and see if you like it. Cause they're both very similar and both have a lot of the same members. How it basically works is you sign up and then the host of the share group tags every single member every day there's a party which is pretty much daily. Only if you want to participate, then you add your name.

veggigoddess @magiedcat Then you get notification when the share window of time is beginning and you usually have numerous hours to share any 1 who signed up. You will always know the window that the party will be happening in advance so you know if you can make it or not. I only do it once a week because sometimes your sharing 20 different closets and of the ones that sign up for sharing that day, you have to share 10 of their vintage items.

Let me know, I can tag you in one of the groups and you can just try it out for a few weeks and see if you like it or not. See if you get any more attention or sales that with your vintage items. If you don't, and wanna leave the great, you just let the moderator know and they will remove you from the tag list

Posh should have a vintage category and then as subsection so you can enter the brand of the vintage item but they don't allow that. they consider vintage to be the brand. It's just weird.
