dms1955d Hello Karla. You just purchased my bankers clock! I know you'll love it. We've had a new battery in it for weeks and it works fine. However, when shipping, I don't want to keep the battery in it or put it in the box, so there will be no battery with it. When shipping, they ask if there are any batteries in the box. Batteries can leak....it's rare, but it can happen. Just wanted you to know. Thank you. Diane
