Hi! I'm Kat I love vintage jewelry. Thought I'd add something personal. I started Posh to escape. I was the primary caregiver to my beloved husband. It helped me, looking listing and shopping. I lost him January 2017 it's been difficult Posh helps me escape! It’s been 2 years since I lost the love of my life! I still miss him so much, but I’m trying to move forward. My theme for this year in thankfulness, I am so thankful for the incredible marriage we had. The memories we shared keep me going!

melissalarcher @riverpeeps my dad is still alive but he has dementia and a really bad heart. In May he underwent heart surgery again but they said it didn’t work that it’s getting weaker. It’s just a matter of time I think. He’s 75 so we just try to appease him and be happy that he does remember who we are so far. 💕

sebq Oh, thank you so much. When we met he was playing for the Miami Dolphins and now he needs a new heart. I’m a Registered Nurse and although his parent claimed prayer healed him I knew better we had it corrected but it was too late and his heart has worn out. His donor has to be about 6’ 8” to match his size and that doesn’t happened everyday and I cry everyday💞🙏

sebq We try and do that but he is so limited in what he can do. He has an IV that infuses 24/7 which I take care of. Thank God I’m a nurse bcuz it allows me to do things he would need to go to the hospital for. I have to bathe him bcuz he can’t get his IV wet and he just stares at me and says I never want to forget your face

We initially were told it wouldn’t take too long bcuz their are so many drug overdoses and shootings, sad but true, but then the dr hit us with not only does his blood and tissue have to match but he needs a large donor bcuz of his size and how enlarged his heart is. She is visiting in June for a few days then the two of us will drive down to Newport Oregon for a few day stay in a incredible Inn, the Nya on the beach. I flew down to be with both my siblings on my first Anniversary without him. I didn’t want to be here. We stayed inCambria Ca where my brother lives. Us siblings had a great time together. We try to see each other each year.

Ice to be close with your siblings. I had an older brother who I lost when he was 34. Actually there isn’t longevity in my family. Dad died at 41 and my mom was 50. Bcuz of that I just pray God let’s me live long enough to see Sam well and just on follow up visits. Oregon must be beautiful. Always wanted to visit the NW.

I have to say that my deep grief is always somewhat lifted when I think of Sam and you. The pitcher is in my family room where I do all my journaling and writing. sebq Thank you that. Yes, friends are important. I didn’t form friendships throughout school bcuz my mom was an alcoholic and I didn’t want to bring anyone over. I was the youngest of 3 but I was the caretaker of her. My brother left for the military and my sister who is much older is the spawn of Satan. I’m very happy Sam has his friends. They are all great guys. I actually would have preferred Tracy marry one of his friends than Steven.

riverpeeps @sebq I am the youngest of three also! My sis is 10 years older and we have become pretty close over the last several years. My mom had many mental problems, she always penned her children against each other. It took us awhile to figure that out after we were adults. She also lost her husband the same year I lost Steve. He had heart disease then developed lung cancer. Steve died in January 2017 Dieter died in October.

My last two years of nursing I worked psych and I have to tell you that field is pathetic the way the patients are treated. The drs over medicate and admit as many times a year as the insurance will allow whether the patient needs it or not. I had one patient so over medicated she was unresponsive and foaming at the mouth... I told the dr to go in and look at her. Cont....

Both my sister and I were good daughter’s, but nothing was ever enough for her. To make sense of her cruelty we just chalked it up to mental illness. She was in some kind of mental institute when I was 7 or so, but my dad, being German, never talked about personal stuff!

sebq She gave away her two babies and dumped her sweet husband. His parents got the kids. She has stolen from me my whole life and when my brother died I paid to bury him but she called my deceased fathers best friend asking for $10,000 to bury him. Knowing her he called me and I told him it was paid for. She was going to pocket the money. She lives for money and goes with ANY man who will buy her anything. Disgusting!

riverpeeps Having brunch with a friends brother, a really nice guy and we always have rich conversation. After I’m going to a neat antique faire out in the countryside. Food, antiques, music, and lots of booths with neat vintage and antique stuff. Steve knew I liked those kind of things, he did to before it too hard to go out and walk, so he would drive me there, one thing he still could do, and wait in the car for me.

riverpeeps @sebq I had a great brunch with my friend Rod, great conversation! We are buds understanding that it’s a friendship, which makes it easy. It’s difficult having male friends, but I so miss their conversation. I did find something, it’s the same china as the pitcher, but in brown flowers, small butter dishes. I plan to use them for my rings in the kitchen or a place to put earrings.

riverpeeps @sebq they are super tiny, but adorable. I am a sucker for old china! Then I got two incredible handmade aprons made from old linen from Germany. They have pockets which makes it great when I gather eggs. She also had handmade pillows made from quilts, the one I got is rectangular which is perfect for my back when I sit in my recliner. Great colors a deep red and butterscotch with some blue.

I feel like I’ve been married my whole life, actually I have, lol, so I have made friends mostly with drs in the hospital but too often they headed down that road that I don’t do. I had one male nurse friend, gay, but he turned on me bcuz I knew more than he did and felt threatened but I was older so of course I knew more but he didn’t like it. And I don’t like drama queen women or women who complain constantly about their husbands. Not me!

riverpeeps @sebq I so relate with what u said! I don’t have any issues about gay people, their lifestyle, or their choices. It’s not an easy road and I really do believe that many are born that way. I think I read somewhere that upon conception we are all female until things start forming. Something goes off when our sex is being formed. Steve and I thought our daughter was, because of her husband it became more difficult having any relationship with her. I prayed for a lot of years that we would be reconciled with her. Through my 2 year journey without Steve I have learned a lot the hard way. I felt prompted to come up with a curriculum, “There is Life After Loss” I’m prepared to share it in a classroom setting, workshop, retreat, or an informal gathering of hurting women.

sebq When he had gained a few pounds this nurse who was easily 100lbs over weight told him lose it or you are off list. Omg, it was all I could do to hold my tongue. At least ask him if dietary could help him and don’t threaten him with his life. It is so upsetting. I want to say things but I truly worry they will pull him off. Post transplant I plan to say something!

sebq Today his pump went off about 5am and I had to get up to change it. I climbed back in bed but couldn’t go back to sleep. Finally I dr idea I’m going to try and look pretty for my Sam so after I showered I put on all my makeup and dressed up. I felt better about me and Sam always compliments. I had to force myself.

He wanted me to continue as long as I could because he knew that it made me feel alive. He also loved hearing about it each week because he prayed for me and all leadership. Called ambulance tried to calm him down, but he lost consciences the EMTs didn’t think he would make it to the hosp. He did, they inserted a chest tube and took him to a more equipped hosp. I wanted to go thee first, but the EMT said he wouldn’t make it if they did. I rode in the front of the ambulance,

riverpeeps @sebq Looking back constantly seeing his vitals plummet to almost nothing. EMT asked me his heart stops do I want him to be resuscitated. Steve and I talked about, but when your there facing that you feel differently. Please I said do what you can for him! There is a lot more detail, maybe we can personally talk sometime. He pulled through with a long stay in the Hosp. Nine days in ICU then two more weeks in the hosp with rehabilitation.

riverpeeps @sebq We were hopeful coming home, but it didn’t last long. Again it began it had collapsed again. Our doctor who literally saved his life several times said that in all his years of practice along with his colleague combined they had never seen such bad lungs, paper thin. This time he was driven to OHSU which is about 2 hours drive. They did a special treatment on him which is incredibly painful. But he was on a respirator heavily sedated so his body

They said he would not survive another nemothorax, probably not the right spelling, but that’s the medical term which I’m sure your familiar with. His second episode was just a month or so later in January. Another long stay in ICU then a regular hosp room. I stayed with him sleeping there too, but I needed to go home after a few days to take care of things then I drove back.

riverpeeps @sebq All this to say that his third episode was the beginning of the end, the end of the line. The following January he couldn’t fight any longer. Our faith carried us both, but honestly I don’t know how I did it some days. God just gives you what u need at the time. I had a lot, I mean a lot of prayer support. Trust that’s what you will have too. I’m here, I know exactly what your going through! Remember self care is important, getting dressed up, etc, what u did for you and Sam helps.

riverpeeps @eclectic_booty your sweet, had my sister visiting which was so special. It’s been a rough few weeks, I had to euthanize my female goose, Gracie. Only a year old, but she had a rare complication to her reproductive system. I thought she was egg bound, her first laying. Surgery would of possibly corrected it, but the chance of her surviving wasn’t a guarantee plus she would of continued having issues even after the vet removed her uterus.

riverpeeps @eclectic_booty She still would of produced eggs, who knows what would of happened. She did a free necropsy and found a unshelled egg the size of 4” by 8”, it took up all the room in her digestive and gut. It was like a Russian egg, an incomplete egg in another. Was a hard choice!
