Hi! I'm Kelly. Working towards slowing down my fast fashion consumption in an effort to be a conscious consumer. I have loved thrifting since I was 16. My style inspiration comes from nature, architecture, engineering, modern art. Beauty is where utility and art meet. I try to ask, “who made these clothes,” before buying new. Apparel shouldn’t harm the earth or humanity. +ADHD = impulsive coats, shoes and jeans in particular🤷🏻‍♀️much to the dismay of my budget. 🤦🏻‍♀️💰

micahriot I get very upset about fast fashion! And posh is what makes my shopping feel less guilty. Second hand is good for our planet! Glad to find like minded people on here!

finefettles @micahriot YES!!! It sort of didn’t dawn on me. I was buying locally produced fresh, organic food but gave no thought to my clothes!! Now I need to try to do this with my kids too. 😉

micahriot @kpickel3672 yes! I feel like it’s easier with kids because getting hand me downs is pretty simple from friends with older kids. And they grow so fast! But if you have teenage girls I bet it’s impossible to get them to wear anything but the latest forever 21. Thankfully mine is a 7yo boy. He doesn’t care what we put on him. Also I’ve been sewing from scratch and remaking thrift finds, so trying to make some of his clothes too.

finefettles @micahriot the girl and Forever 21 for sure! And the boy is squeamish about other people’s clothes. They both used to like getting hand-me-overs. Now in middle school... no way. 😝
