Hi! I'm Kelly. I'm cleaning out the stuff that's just hanging in my closet in an attempt to raise money for my daughter's medical related travel expenses. My daughter, Lauren, has a rare cerebral Arteriovenous Malformation. She has a 99% chance of rupture (hemorrhagic stroke) during her lifetime. The average age of rupture is 17.....she is 15. harleydarby Please seek a second opinion on your daughter. I am a retired ICU/CCU RN and Stanford has done miracles with children with this condition. God bless and good luck.

undecydedd @harleydarby I've lost count of what number opinion we're on. ☺️ I have 3 spreadsheets of different doctors and hospitals I've reached out to. I've actually talked with a neurosurgeon at Stanford....Dr. Chang has reviewed her case. He's recommended gamma knife. We're exploring having that done at Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix. Have an appointment there in just under 2 weeks to meet with the neurosurgeon. 👍🏻

harleydarby @undecydedd So glade you are meeting with someone and was going to suggest gamma knife. I worked with an RN whose twin boys were born with this condition and so have some knowledge of subject as worked with her for 20 years. Sounds like you are on a good path and doing everything perfect! Please keep me updated after appointment. I know there are risks anything having to do with the brain, but you are correct on the bursting of these malformations.

harleydarby @undecydedd It is like an aneurysm in adults, but affects children. You are doing a good job and sounds like you have done your research. I have seen so many misdiagnosis of conditions in my life as why I had to open my mouth. Have a good weekend.
