Hi! I'm Kelsey. I work in the fashion industry as a Sales & Ops Planning Analyst & have way too many clothes ( 100 + pairs of designer jeans!) wildtimefashion I have a question? Do you notice people are more attracted to nwt or boutique? I am new to poshmark and I am diving into the boutique and want an opinion from someone that has been doing this for a little bit. Thanks for your feedback.

I usually only label my boutique items as boutique if they are brand new and have never been sold before (reselling doesn't count) or if I purchase them from a wholesaler or jobber. New with tag is okay just do your research on the price points other people are offering in the same category. I usually label mine nwt when I purchase them and decide not to keep which happens often since I'm a shopaholic! Hope that helps!

wildtimefashion No, maybe I didn't ask correctly. Do you find shoppers are more approachable to nwt than boutique. I have used items that seem to go but the boutique items shoppers seem slower or not as responsive. Is that a better question 🤔

kjansy @wildtimetoys i feel like it might actually be harder to sell some boutique items, yes. Sorry totally read that wrong. I feel like people assume there might be a little more wiggle room when it comes to offers/counter offers on nwt and even used items vs boutique. Most sellers with boutique items are pretty firm with the price.

shorelinegirl Hi I have decided on the cutout dress and the chevron cutout dress. I saw you previously sold the cutout for 13. I'm not sure if I can make offer on two dresses and still bundle. So would you be willing to do 12 each? I didn't want to mess up your listing so I'm posting this here. I like the zigzag but I'm afraid the straps will be too long for me. kjansy @shorelinegirl I think the chevron dress would be $18 -$2 from 10% = $16 - $3 to get it at $13 Then the zig zag would be $20 - $2 from 10%, = $18, and then - $6 to get it to $12. Oops so am additional $9 after bundle. My bad. So you would do an offer and deduct $9 from the total after bundle discount if that makes sense ❤

kjansy @shorelinegirl If you bundle the two then make your offer for the bundle as $24 I will accept. ❤ I re-did those listings since posh records your lower historical price. So if I dropped it at $12 again on the initial listing I would have to re-do the listing because when I increase the price then lower the price again, it won't notify my customers of the price drop since posh remembers the lowest historical price.

kjansy @shorelinegirl so what you need to do is build up your shares then basically you ask for approval on a Q&A listing then the person in the share group approves you and you can sign up under the share group listing (they have 2 listings in their closet, share group sign up listing and the Q&A, listing). If you let me know when you get up to 1,000 then I'll help direct you to a few groups. ❤

kjansy @alexisraeadams yeah white backgrounds def help! I take my photos in a very sunny room but I feel like I need a little more lighting. You can also replace your indoor lighting with light bulbs that don't give pictures that yellow hue. I think they are called the GE reveal 100 or something like that. It takes a little longer for them to turn on but it makes a difference and much cheaper than a lighting kit!

kjansy @colorsinnoise Hi ❤️! I worked in the fashion industry and have a lot of connections. There was a local fashion jobber that was going out of business so I just bought it off them. I would check through the app Let Go, 5 miles, or even craigslist but obviously don't go and pick up a mannequin alone ❤️ Hope that helps. I would still be careful with NWOT as well with workout clothes. ❤️ and don't do that subscription thing with Fabletics. they've been known to charge you even after you cancel and they are hard to get ahold of. They wanted to be An affiliate but I researched their company and the better business bureau website had a crazy amount of complaints so I dropped them. Def not going to promote that.

foxarazzi @kjansy really? I'm kind of not surprised since Poshmark's main goal is money. I have developed standards about selling. I honestly have been in sales before and never thought I would but if someone is rude or makes lowball offers, or offers $2 less than you're already great counter, don't sell to them! 9/10 end up in cases, unfair reviews or some sort of hassle. Life is too short to invite that into your life.

kjansy @abbypugliese try taking photos on a white surface but avoid yellow lighting. So try to get natural light. Don't use filters just increase exposure (don't increase light or brightness it will alter the color) after you take your photo (are you taking photos with an iPhone?)

kjansy @siragusa I pay my CA llc taxes in addition to income taxes and business permits. Wholesale is not as cheap as you think. I have my resellers permit and order items locally in Los Angeles. I leave room for offers on all my items. In addition Poshmark takes a 20% Cut.

kjansy @siragusa It’s hard to survive as a business in California, everything is more expensive here and I work my ass off everyday to make sure I live. I have to make enough to pay for my own health insurance and medical bills that have piled up over the past couple of years on top of living expenses. Please respect that I do the best that I can and that I have a business and I dont get my items at “no cost”.
