Welcome to my closet! A little about my preloved fashion journey…. I grew up on hand-me-downs from older neighbours and cousins; getting bags of preloved clothing are amongst my best childhood memories! I would spend hours in my room, mixing and matching clothes. They all had different personalities and styles and I loved nothing more than creating outfits to suit my own personality and style with their clothes! In my late teens and early twenties, I discovered and fell in love with op shopping! Every trip was an adventure and every outfit special and unique 🤩 Still, all I ever wanted to do was work in fashion!!!! And so, I fell right into the trap of fast fashion in my mid twenties 😕 After over a decade in the industry, ‘the fashion is disposable; make people want to buy more more more!!!’ mentality began to kill my soul 💀 Learning of the environmental and human rights issues running rife throughout the fashion world was truly sickening! The Rana Plaza tragedy shook me to my core. So, I quit participating in fast fashion in 2015 and returned to my preloved clothing roots, purchasing a few new pieces from ethical brands here and there. For every piece I add to my wardrobe, I put one back into circulation (sell or donate). I’m so excited to share my lovingly curated closet with you!
