Hi! I'm Kimberly. I am from Hatteras & Ocracoke Islands, North Carolina. These tiny barrier islands are located at the southern most point of Cape Hatteras, and 75 miles south of OBX. I also grew up & went to college in NYC. I love fashion, to surf fish & to breathe in the salty air. When I can, I love to walk along to shoreline-against the current and in the wind-as it is truly where I can feel the peace in my soul-as well as the inherited bloodlines of Hatteras Islands, running through my veins. I began my journey in fashion in the early 2000's, shopping at My cousin Shelley's Boutiques (on both Hatteras/Ocracoke Islands) ~Village Diva~ Shelley has had an incredible eye for fashion since we were young teenagers, and she has taught me everything that I know! She was/is equally incredible as she allowed me to "help for clothes" for over a decade back in the day! I have also acquired an 'eye' of my own over the years shopping at small town boutiques as I always enjoyed being in the setting with other patrons and owners. I surely believe that if we choose to do so, we can try to tap into the art of our souls and let it shine in fashion and how great that can make us feel- Some of my favorite brands are Free People, Cut Loose, Mod a Doc, XCVI, Johnny Was, Funky People, Joyous & Free, PJ Salvage, Hobo, Frye, London Fly, Neon Budda, Pure & Handknit, to name a few. kariannshearts Hi Beautiful! I wanted you to know that you touched my heart by gifting me an item tonight! I have been fighting for my life for the past 3 years! I was diagnosed with Stage 3b Adenocarcinoma Colorectal with invasive lymph node spread! I wasn’t a candidate for surgery so I did 8 months of a 4 chemotherapy cocktail, biweekly…. I would have in house infusion and then wear a pump home for 46 hours continuously pumping and go back to remove the pump!

kariannshearts My second to last treatment gave me a severe allergic reaction so I had to take a 3 week break before my last chemo infusion and last pump! It was a huge victory!🥹 I followed that with almost 6 weeks of daily radiation treatments which was much harder on my body! Radiation burns you badly and puts tiny cracks in your bones, It took everything in me to make it through that but I finished and rang that bell!🔔

kariannshearts I went on to have my first surgery to remove the remaining tumor and infected lymph nodes.. A full resection with ileostomy loop, I had my ostomy bag for 3 months while my resection (taking a very large section of the bowel and most of the rectum and forming new from bowels)! I had a successful ileostomy reversal 3 months later! I was diagnosed with Autoimmune and many other things in the process of finding out what was wrong and the treatments set it into full progression!

kariannshearts I am finally in remission but life is a very hard adjustment after all of this… I did it alone, a single Mom to a now 17 year old and 4 year old! I wanted to share my story for a couple reasons! 1. Please for yourself and anyone you love, don’t wait until 40 to have a colonoscopy 🙏 Please take charge of your health and know you have the power! Your mind is an amazing tool! 2. Your kindness and that of a few others I have met on here touches every bit of my heart and soul!
