Hi! I'm Kimberly. Thanks for stopping by! The photo is me at Pawject Runway, a charity my brother started to raise money for BARCS (the Baltimore City Animal Shelter) and Show Your Soft Side (a campaign to stop animal abuse. Professional athletes and local celebrities walk a runway with a dog or cat that needs adopting. Every one of the animals is spoken for in short order. Last year, Pawject Runway raised about $250,00. My photo is of the "kissing booth."

aprettyflamingo @nancynack That's wild. I had over 30 years as a journalist. I went from print editing newspapers (started up a few), writing for national magazines, then online. I pretty much stopped in 2014. Yahoo told me I shouldn't try to interview the president as it wasn't legit. I had to quote the NYT interviewing the president. And that's where people get their news now. My soul really bleeds not doing it anymore. I keep muttering to people...my people need me.

nancynack @newsie8001 I was discouraged from doing a real important story about a hospital ... bc the hospital was our biggest advertiser. That was the last straw. Our role keeping things kosher has all but disappeared ... few realize what a house of cards we are when healthy journalism goes away. I miss it so much.

aprettyflamingo @nancynack I hear ya. Local / gonzo papers are making a comeback. It will be interesting to watch. I worked with some awesome folks online, but they had no idea that they were in no shape or form journalist. No training on ethics or the law. The wild west. I truly believe in the 4th Estate as an essential block in governing pyramid.

aprettyflamingo @jasonallen476 Because of what's going on they had to cancel Pawject Runway this year. Google it and also "The Soft Side" which is Baltimore's anti animal abuse campaign that has spread across the country. Tough guys and gals are photographed with their pets with the tag line "Only a Punk Would Hurt a Dog or Cat." My brother had 5 mastiffs when they featured him on a billboard in Baltimore. He only brought 2 of the 5 and just from the slobber, the dogs wrecked the set. It's a great photo

stormtreasures @newsie8001 Indeed your dad was a very smart man. I would be purchasing a lot of items offered for sale on Poshmark if these were normal times. Our store was one of those vandalized during the recent street riots in NYC--we therefore need new display cabinets, etc. Plus the rent, insurance, electricity, ands on still needs to be paid on the three months our store was closed. aprettyflamingo @jeanmunsell3 I totally missed your comment. Yes, she's a cutie! My brother rescues Mastiffs, and someone slipped a Pit in on him...yes, they tried to pass her off as a Mastiff. Too funny. Like he wouldn't notice. Her name is Lola (Falana). She's a trip. The first week, my brother brought Lola to my mom's house. My mom was screaming to be sure the dog didn't get on her sofa. We found the dog on top of my mom's bed asleep.

aprettyflamingo @hautecali Thank you. That charity is all my brother's doing. His staff works for free for the night and reps from all of our sports teams take part. Even when people are traded to different cities, they come back. Rockers, sports celebs, media people and politicians walk the kitties and pups down the aisle. A lot of the time they get attached to the animal they've chosen. It's a great night.

aprettyflamingo @s27a Normally I get annoyed when people ask me to come look at their stuff. Posh labels that as spam...BUT boy you have LOVELY items. It has been the TOUGHEST week for my family. My mama has had a sudden health crisis that we'll be dealing with (just to find out the extent--the BIG C) until the first of the new year. Your items made me really smile!!! And I truly needed that.
