buy_on_tap Hey girl....I think 3k is fine but honestly why not go and get a brand new ring if that's the case...the center stone on that ring was a half ct. I believe the rg itself is 1 1/2 ct. Total weight. Shop around first. Get a feel of what retailers are selling this for and what ppl are selling their rgs for. .

buy_on_tap Know this...someone cannot buy a rg and think that they can sell it for more or less bcuz as soon as it comes off the "lot" it loses value. The person should be selling it for half really. Unless they get it appraised and that is a legal document justifying that the piece is worth the asking price. And appraisals are going to be your best friend.
