motherhenalaska @flutterbyocean May God keep y'all safe. Be sure not to always take the interstate. I was a kid before the days of the intestate and we happened on all sorts of nifty things, like following the sings to some state fair where they happened to be having "Nickel.Day" All the rides were a nickel so my parents bought a whole bunch of tickets for my siblings and me. That was maybe 1965.

motherhenalaska @flutterbyocean You are very welcome. I'm so sorry to hear about your losses in the flood. How's it going so far? My husband was home on hospice for a week and died the day Baton Rouge began flooding last year. Praise God we remained high and dry long enough to make his memorial arrangements that day.

flutterbyocean @motherhenalaska sometimes I wonder what God's plans are for us. You must also. In our case we are beyond blessed. It has actually all worked out. We are doing really well. We are blessed and blessed again. How are you? I can't imagine losing my husband. I mean I try to not think of it. God bless you.

motherhenalaska @flutterbyocean I am so glad to hear you are doing well😋. Yes, it is hard, in ways I couldn't imagine and after more than a year am just learning. It gives me a whole new understanding of widow's. We were blessed with 36 years of marriage, which at one time almost didn't make it past 8 years, but God did a mighty work in each of us. I always say our sequel was far superior to the original!😍 He was such a funny man, though serious when called for.

motherhenalaska @flutterbyocean And yes, it still has me asking, "Why now? What are your plans for me now? I thought they were such-n-such. What is the point know?" Then I have to remind myself that God has a plan for each of us and has promised not to forsake us, but to see everything through to the end. He just doesn't always tell us everything when we want to know -- and sometimes not at all. That's where faith and trust come in. Since He has never failed me I see no justification not to believe Him now.

flutterbyocean @motherhenalaska that's right! As the water was pooling around my calves in our house during the flood I remember saying to God, "I don't know your plan, but I know there's a reason". I see now - our lives are better than before. I pray you find peace.

Though I keep fretting, "Okay, I'm all right now, but how am I going to make it next month?" God always surprises me and pulls me back from the brink just in time. I am learning to trust better and not worry so much. Good, bc I hate worrying!😋
