lalafro8 Hey. @kyliebrooks1991 I’m so sorry that happened to you. I was looking before Xmas but then kind of gave up. Since Nov I have been going after a few scammers on here who have been selling supposed PS5’s & trying to get ppl to buy off site. They keep making new accounts every time one gets hot. Seems never-ending but I know a few ppl that got ripped off by them by going off site so that’s why I keep tracking them.

lalafro8 Did you try to buy from that Fredtheseller person? Is that who ripped you off or someone else? In any case do not go off site from whichever place you try to buy from bc then you won’t be protected. Most well known companies offer buyer protection but you need to make sure they do. Posh does.

If this person tried to convince you to go off site then you learned from your mistake & you won’t let that happen to you again bc you will be so much more cautious. I know it sucks but it’s happened to A LOT of ppl. I talked to woman on here who lost $500 right before x-mas that way trying to buy one for her fiancé.

lalafro8 It might take awhile but you just have to weed out the scammers from the legitimate sellers. Legitimate sellers will never ask for your #, request you to pay through a cash_app, & will have previous/positive selling history. A red flag for me is when I see a brand new account from someone just trying to sell a PS5.

lalafro8 I’d also look @ various sites like Posh but make sure they all offer buyer protection bc then you are covered if something goes wrong (don’t receive item, it’s damaged, etc) as long as you purchase the PS5 or any item through that specific site.

lalafro8 @kyliebrooks1991 most of them. Like I mentioned above. Red flags are brand new accounts with no sale history & literally only trying to sell a ps5. But hey if they are willing to sell through the site then you are protected either way. Most scammers will try to get you to go off site so if they will sell through Posh then more than likely they aren’t trying to scam you.

lalafro8 If you do find someone you feel is trustworthy who will sell through Poshmark take screenshots of your conversation regardless so you have it as proof of what transpired. A seller can always delete your comments @ any time so take a photo so you can have it to send to Poshmark if needed.

lalafro8 There is a scam on posh where a seller alters the shipping label & somehow sends a person the wrong item & sends their item back to themselves @ a different address. It looks like it was delivered to you but in fact you never received it. This was happening a lot a few years ago but I don’t know how often it happens now. Again, what I’ve seen with the ps5 scammers overall is attempting to convince buyers to purchase through cash_apps.

lalafro8 They want a quick buck so more than likely the posh scam isn’t wasn’t they are doing. If you search that scam up online you can read more about it too bc ppl’s’ stories will come up of what happened to them. I haven’t heard anything recently with that scam happening or with it regarding the PS5’s but just wanted to make you aware of it.

lalafro8 @kyliebrooks1991 I know. Because scammers know that the demand is still extremely high & the supply is limited. Ppl who aren’t scamming but selling PS5s for way above retail know that too. But it’s not like Xmas where everyone was looking @ the same time. Yes, I still want one for my son but I’m not going to pay a ridiculous price or be fooled by these ppl trying to get me for a quick buck. I just try to help ppl not get ripped off these days.

lalafro8 And I wish it hadn’t happened to you. I really do. More times than not when it seems too good to be true it usually is. Bc of your bad experience you are now way more cautious & you can probably see through some of these ppl’s lies better now than before.

lalafro8 That Fredtheseller guy has the same area code 517 as a couple scammer accounts I reported a few months ago & of a guy ronashtf who is a scammer currently trying to sell a ps5 (he doesn’t have it, trying to get ppl to go off site). I think they are all the same person. ronashtf blocked me as soon as he created his account & I didn’t comment or anything so I’m pretty sure he knows me from a previous account he had.

But the # he gave you with the (517) has been tied to multiple scammer accounts that I reported several months ago & there’s a scammer who is currently trying to sell a supposed PS5s from a (517) area code. It’s from Lansing, Michigan. I think it’s all the same person.

Do Not be Fooled, I have also turned in several scammers, I'm 🚫 as soon as they make a closet. Feel free to ask anytime. wendyse Hi. There are a lot of dishonest people trying to sell the PS5 on here and they keep creating new accounts. Only buy it though poshmark that way you are guaranteed to get your $ back if it is not authentic. I would recommend getting the app hotstock. It alerts you to when the PS5 is in stock at various retailers. Also there is a you tube channel Blaze2K that updates on ps5 restock. The chat feature is really helpful and people will alert you to when the ps5 might be in stock.

I would just want shipping fees covered but not sure how to do that on poshmark. If you want them, I can send you a few months worth and list for minimal here so PM gets their cut. Any ideas?
