lara_alamode @kjansy YES actually! So when I was starting, shipping was the hardest thing to figure out. I definitely recommend getting a scale (can ship anything under a pound for $3-$4). Anything over a pound, I highly recommend USPS *padded* flat rate envelopes. They're completely free & they send them right to your house (not available at USPS stores, only online). Whatever you can cram in there only cost $6.5 to ship priority and bc they recently raised their rates, it's definitely the way to go!

kjansy @larac7586 omg I LOVE you! I just left my corporate job as a S&OP Analyst at 7 For All Mankind, Splendid, Ella Moss... I was sooo overworked! I kind of want to do my own thing and be my own boss now and never go back to the corporate world! Because I worked in the fashion industry I'm able to get really really good deals on designer goods and I also live near all the movie studios which means shopping their costume departments. I really want to make a career out of it.

lara_alamode @kjansy it sounds like you totally could! I'm excited for u actually!! I started kinda on accident out of necessity and it's been my job for about 3 years now. I LOVE it. Making my own hours is the BEST job perk. Just don't forget to record everything as you go. If you sell over $20k, they make u pay taxes.. which is what I'm working on as we speak. kjansy @larac7586 the only part I feel that I'm struggling with is just starting... i think since I'm sort of new, I'm not really selling anything. Im assuming it's because I haven't built up my feedback score enough. Did you notice an uptake in sales once you built up your feedback score?❤

lara_alamode @kjansy absolutely. I feel like once I got going, I really got going. It was a slow start for me, too. I'd say, just make sure that feedback stays high and get as many items up as possible. The more u have on, the more likely something will sell.

lara_alamode @kjansy Also, I started with auctions, but auctions only really work when there's something specific you know ppl are shopping for; example, hunter or ugg boots in the fall, or tory burch sandals in the spring, auctions will get those higher than buy it now format. You'll learn as you go. Even though I usually do buy it now (it gets old relisting over and over), when I find something that's auction worthy, it's pretty fun watching the bids go up!

lara_alamode @kjansy I just thought of something else! .. people on ebay are crazy about measurements. after a few years, I realized it's easier if you just take the measurements when you take the pictures. lol I would have saved myself a lot of time if I started doing that!

murph5763 @larac7586 yes! I️ just bought a couple things that were not what I️ was expecting ... ugg that’s the worse I️ guess I️ just try to resell knowing I’ll loose some money. So yes you can save a lot but you don’t get to try it on either! But hopefully I’ll build an inventory!! I’ll look for your new things. I️ appreciate how you give detailed info and measurements. I️ can’t believe how many people don’t. And then when you ask for them they may never respond.
