Hi! I'm Laurel. Thanks for stopping by! I formerly owned a brick & mortar Antiques business with my husband for 34 years during which time I collected Antique & Vintage textiles, clothing, & jewelry. I actually began collecting before our business time. I hate to admit my age (who doesn't? lol), but my initial foray in Vintage clothing was more than 50 years ago! yikes! Additionally, I've loved & collected contemporary designer clothing and jewelry. I'm downsizing to about 10% of the space I formerly lived in, so I'm going through EVERYTHING - so there's MUCH MORE to come & I'm trying to list daily! I've read a lot, but also have been bombarding support with questions, trying to get a handle on all the functionality that's offered I'll let you know if any reply from them is unclear to me or if more questions arise. i haven't begun to post things yet, still learning and getting things organized! Do items I post go directly to my closet (I imagine they do) or is there something I need to setup?

Also, I've been wondering - but not yet had time to explore - how I submit items to Parties - can they be items I've already posted? If so, how do I submit them? Anything different if I'm posting them on-the-fly to get them into a party that's about to start or is already in progress? Also, I saw somewhere about a Sip & Party but hadn't any more info - is that a home-based event? What's entailed? See, I'm just FULL of questions! Sorry!!! <3

@bbbabe3715 Items you list are all apart of your closet. Also when you list it goes into a feed where other people will share an item they have selected. With all of there other followers.

@bbbabe3715 depending when your on the app. You will be notified of xyz party is happening now. You'll then be asked if you want to join or cancle. Each party is unique. One party may be a makeup only party or a kids only party. So, if you have any of those items in your closet you may share then to that specific party. No need to rush. Partys like these are always happening. Posh n sip is done my state and sometimes city. I've been on hear a year and have not done one.

I've never sold things on line before, (well, just the occasional Craig's post of household stuff), always thinking it was so much bother! But I LOVE the Posh platform - still trying to get a handle on all of it, but I'm learning fast by doing. But a little too fast, maybe, since I need to slow down & measure as you suggest! You're so right about sizes being so varied!

@bbbabe3715 Posh has been my first foray into online sells too. It makes it easy (especially shipping). So, with a case, there is just a button that the purchaser can click on their transaction that says lets them contact Posh and report a problem (ex- never delivered, not as described, etc). Then Posh acts a mediator between you and buyer. They advise you of the specific complaint and let you present your side/evidence. Then, they make a ruling.

@bbbabe3715 I have had 2 opened against me. First was fit issue...long story she was very pregnant and dress didn’t fit and I just let her return. Figured best bet with a hormonal momma. 😁. Even if I won, she could leave a negative comment on my profile. I was new and didn’t want that right out of the gate.

Second case was another size issue. Listing had size in description, as well as measurements, and person still opened case. Again, I let person just return and then re-listed. I knew I would have no problem selling. I spoke with buyer and advised ONLY of returned in condition I had sent. After that, I started taking photos of item when packed. I know some peeps make videos of packing process and time-stamped photos. I haven’t gone that far yet. I don’t usually have couture/big dollar items.

@magiedcat and on computer I haven't found a way to delete photos. I start w cell but go to computer to get a better look at photos, but rather than just deleting there, I have to go back to the phone - then if I forget I've written description , overwrite and lose it because of saving on phone! Haha I am still learning

@bbbabe3715 Yes, in both instances I just told the mediator I would accept a return and they did the rest. The comments on a review aren’t required, but I know I read them if I am hesitant about a seller. Alright, so see in top left corner of your screen right now where there is a back arrow? When you are in a closet, that same spot will have little lines. Click those lines and will drop down list of markets (ex- women, home, etc) and then you can change. 👍🏼

Photographed item showing ticket & label and item laid on box so shipping label evident. Video would take another person being a available, but I guess it is worth it if an item is costly
Hate to think of scammers taking advantage (like have same item but they've damaged & are s swapping theirs 4 yours, but people who are diabolical stay up nights scheeming very sad

@bbbabe3715 yea, I have heard some horror stories but they all involved high dollar items. One person did tell me she accidentally shipped an item to a previous customer, previous customer thought it was a gift. Even when she contacted and advised mistake, person wouldn’t send back. So, she had to cancel sell AND lost the item because person wouldn’t return (which is stealing in my opinion). Not sure what Posh did about that on their end.

@bbbabe3715 My friend said Posh eventually suspended the buyers account, but only after she insisted repeatedly. I am guessing things like that are so rate there isn’t an established “procedure” for addressing it. I am sorry, I missed that second question. I do not use PC really at all, so I am not sure. Sounds like is overwriting..my guess. Only Edit your listing on one device at a time. If you need to switch, Save and Close and then Edit on the other device. Try that and see if helps 👍🏼

In a nutshell just remenber to
Edit & share as much I your closet as often
Try to share other people closet often at least until you get to 5000 share
And make friends with other poshers
And I go through 100 new closets and 100 just join every day and read through people introductory. It's just my routine ♡

@bbbabe3715 Hey! Alright: to make a bundle for that person: Click on their name. This will take you into their closet. At the too of screen, hit Bundle button. This takes you into Bundle page. In too right, click the More button (looks like dots) and select Switch to Sell View. Now you are making a bundle from your closet.

@bbbabe3715 OR you can click the More (dots) at top and select Share to Bundle. When you click Share to Closet, it will take you back into your closet so you can select what to share. Find the item, click Share button. Look at the list of people and your Liker should be listed first (little circle with their pic will be listed under where you normally select Followers).

@bbbabe3715 I am pretty sure they have these steps detailed in the FAQ section. Also, have you checked out 30 Minute Method? It explains how best to harness the algorithm on Posh. Essentially, you need to 1) follow, 2) list, and 3) share. So, if you have an hour to spend, list 3 items and then do some following/sharing. There are YouTube videos that really help.

Oh, thanks - hadn't hear of 30 Minute method - is it also a Video or in FAX. I read a great deal before I listed anything, but - being new to the app & to selling online at all as well as being a "kinesthetic" learner (perhaps most people are), it's taking DOING to assimilate. The app is very well designed!

As far as bundling goes find the persons name the. Add the item you want to bundle and keep adding those items. Also if you have pics of the sizes and or mesurments you can submit it to posh. Because you have measurements stated. You will win the case. Do not get take advantage of. Stand up for yourself!!!!

@terasinahurley I've posted so many things already in such a short time. I'd been stating sizes from labels, not photographing - and not measuring unless the item was used so may have shrunk / vintage wherein sizes are so different from contemporary clothing. I haven;t time to go back & measure everything. Is is sufficient to photograph the label prior to packaging for shipping. Thank you for your help!

@bbbabe3715 I take pictures of the size tag. Then if I can I I'll post a size chart from the website. I find that helps alot. Maybe new listings measure? Takeing pictures before you ship is good. I do that all the time. You can akso use those pics and the pics from your closet. To help you win cases. If any more should arise.

- going to new closet and commenting welcoming 10 people to poshmark on thier posher posting
- sharing any one who share from you
It been recommended by some you the reseller to do this at least once a day to generate sells

Size charts from Mfg are a good idea, though. Someone just mentioned to me last night that they use size charts for difficult to measure items, like an exercise leotard. i never would have thought of it. .

I'm using custom a lot now, referring people to the description where i give detail (like label size & measurements0, but have only begun to do that on most things the last couple of days. Not like the folks who "bulk" load - I did see 2 videos today, TY @kurobane But i've been so limited in time, I only began to even look at others' closets last night til about 3AM I know it's important to share & follow, but building the closet has been task 1 for me Task 2 has been figuring out where & how to safely store things!

@bbbabe3715 Not necessarily. If you share the item other people will see it and may drop into your closet. If a size is available on the tag then yes go ahead and customize it. It makes the person more confident in buying your product. Unless it doesnt have a size. If I'm searching fir a large I don't want a bunch of smalls populating. Also if the buyer doesn't read your description then its on them not you. And your right every clothing fits differently.

Hi, I am also new to poshmark about 2 months. I have had some success with the 30 min. method I found it on youtube also a tip I got from another posher.like poshers with 10k or more followers and then follow all of there followers. This will increase your followers alot. Just press on there followers and when they all come up follow. Hope you have great luck and a blessed day. Suzanne

@bbbabe3715 I also found that feature by accident but is the first thing i do when i wake up and go on poshmark . you just go to your main page and re follow alll your followers. its much easier than doing it through the " news" alert

@kurobane The individual liked the item & I'd sent a bundle over the 4th, but she'd let it expire. Don't know if that's becuz she was too busy or she didn't like the price offered. Now she's sent me a bundle on the same item - i don't want to Accidentally offer it to her for higher (will go a bit lower in case the prior price was objectionable), but certainly don't want to inadvertently offer higher than I had prior - but have no idea what the price was in the initial proposal I'd sent. @kurobane Thnx Still hope someone can show us where this info is, though. Since many bundles expire, i want to be able to look at the previous proposal when sending a bundle to another person so I can go a bit lower to the 2nd person than the expired offer. i like this method over the offer to likers as it give a lot more flexibility!

@bbbabe3715 sometimes if people don't like an offer rhey will ket it expire. It's better to have an offer expire than have it rejected. Unfortunately thers no way to see what you iffered in the bundle.

I hav a bundle proposed To me that includes 6 items. The total asking price = $424, but the Bunlde shows it as Only $295 !!! I've emailed Support and provided the pending transaction's reference but nothing I've emailed them for at least a week has had a response! If this is a system error, it's havoc!

@bbbabe3715 maybe the lower amount does not include all the item . You should be able to click on it and see all the items in the bundle. I think the limit might be 10 . It counts on what you can put in a box

@bbbabe3715 When items get added to a bundle most times you get a discount. 5, 10, 15% ext. .. it will give you a discount from what the regular price is. If I remember correctly the ouchaser can even make rhere own offer. Hpow this helped.

@bbbabe3715 You can set your Poshmark account to pre- select a % off for a bundle. I think on my closet it's 2 or more items %10. If a customer adds these items they can buy them for that % 0ff or U can offer a deeper discount. I do beleive the puchaser xan also make an offer for the bundle.

@bbbabe3715 I am not sure if there is a limit to the number of items that can be put in a bundle. Regardless, it sounds like 1 of 2 things has happened. First, it is possible to set a standard discount to apply. To check that, go into your profile and click on My Seller Tools -> My Seller Discount. This will show what discounts you have set up (if any).

@bbbabe3715 The other option is that the buyer offered the amnt shown. They could be hoping you are willing to accept the offer because such a large bundle. Either way, you can counter the offer. Go into the bundle and click Make Offer and then offer whatever price you want.

@bbbabe3715 If/when I get offers that I have to reject, I usually send them a quick comment (on the bundle) explaining that I can’t be more flexible (ex: these are new items, etc) and that I am offering my best discount for the moment.

@bbbabe3715 go down to the bottom click on the bell icon. After that tap on offers. You will see what you offered and or you should see what ither people have offered you. It should be simakar to the bundles. You should see a big Blue button that says buy now and a smaller Blue button that says offer. The offer button is where you can offer your price to them and vice versa. As I mentioned don't decline an offer it wull mess with your stats an the algorithm. It's best to let the offer expire.

So much to know vetween posh and my work lol sometimes I have to stop and look and try it myself tonfurther assist.

if the bundle is active click the bell go to bundles, there should be an offer button. this is if they have items of yours bundled. Before you hit the offer button Click offer it should show something similar. It will also have an option for you to makevan offer. Now on the other side the purchaser can click buy now and buy it at thw bundle price ir accept the offer you made. The purchaser can also counter. If your the purchaser you should see button.

@terasinahurley I understand your dilemma, Terasina. I'm the survivor of a head-on collision w a 17.5 Ton Truck in a 50 mph zone, hence head-on = 100 mph impact. It's been a very long haul- many hospitalizations, more than 20 surgeries, had to take early retirement due to health after already down-grading my career, so I understand the economic issues, too.

Need to make some decent money out of the Posh adventure to try to keep up. Was driving a 17 yr old car, it died so needed to use our property taxes (now due the 31st) to purchase a vehicle. I think most people on here need to make money for needs. Hopefully, there are some buyers with disposable income! to help support all of us!

With 6 items, there are photos of them in the left perimeter (on Computer) as well as photos as a block to the lower right. The 6 photos on the left (do = $295) don't match the 6 as a block to the right (=$424)! The sets of photos vary from each other by one item, though each set has 6 items...

@bbbabe3715 Sounds like you definitely need to contact Posh support. They will want a screen shot, I am sure. You could try removing an item from the bundle and then adding it back. Would also try logging out of Posh and back in. Essentially, like turning on and off your computer. But sounds like Support is going to need to get involved

@magiedcat Yes, I emailed immediately upon discovery - didn't think of a screen shot, but did give the transaction # & web address of the transaction's page. Didn't wish to manipulate it in any way until they've had a chance to analyze it. Sent add'l info when i found that the photos varied. Titled message URGENT-URGENT, etc -hope they'll get to it soon! This could be happening to someone else who isn't noticing the error and agrees to sale..

Closest in severity is I sent an offer to Likers - item showed there are 7, but the offer only went to 2... Not good as there's much less urgency to "seal thee deal" when you think there's only one contender vs 6 of them! No replies have come from Support in about 2 weeks time on any matter...

@bbbabe3715 With offers, it only sends new offers to new likers. If you sent an offer a week ago and there were 10 likers, system sends to all 10. Next week, there 12 likers (2 new) and you send same offer, it will only go to those new people. Now, if you send a different/lower offer, it will go to all 12. Make sense?

Tech support had me clear out cookies & history & check my browser version was the most recent. in addition, i deleted & reinstalled the app on my phone.but nothing resolved. I took another look & finally noticed that the pix in landscape view on lower Rt are items the'd "liked" but those in profile view on left were those in the bundle.

@bbbabe3715 You can still sale items if a person has them bundled. You just can't cancel or change that person's bundle u less it has been 24hrs. So if the person deleted an item then yes you can add it to a different bundle. It's always a learning experience on posh. Your doing fine 🙂

To check your Posh Ambassador status: Click on the menu where your user name is, then down toward the bottom select: My Posh Status then select the > On the right of a Posh Ambassador status, this will take you to your Activity Analysis and show you want you’ve achieved and what you still need.

@mt10lvr I joined posh later June. Joined instagram as was encouraged by a couple of long term Poshers who have answered lots of questions I had initially. But I haven't had time to even look at Instagram! I've not shared on it & don't on FB as I don't want requestsbto sell off posh. Posh utilizes all the time I have to give, especially with so many items to share. You may try listing you hand made items - have seen some, don't know anyone who is selling them to inquire how it goes..

Are you saying there is another way to list those items? Like boutique? I have all my others of those on FB but I don't charge much for them (everything $25 or less) so I mark price up a touch on here to insure I get same profit as elsewhere

@mt10lvr oh sorry just saw your question. You're asking about listing your hand crafted items, yes? I don't believe you can do so as boutique. My understanding is boutique is limited to wholesale purchases ambassador level folks can make through Posh . ( I haven't looked into that except that early on l thought I could purchase wholesale from a vendor & sell, but was told of those limitations. )

@mygrant486 Happy to hear they're improving! I didn't have any packaging /labeling with the Iron train, however this was my mother-in-laws, purchased in the early 1980s, I believe. I think that the hazards of lead paint were well know & publicized by then, so I think it's unlikely to have lead/lead paint. I don't recommend it as a child's toy, though, due to the weight of the pieces and the small part "hookup" between the engine & coal car.

I've only begun to sell things on Posh (never did any other online platform) because I've had long term serious health issues impacting my ability to work and am trying to prep my home to downsize. Otherwise, most of everything I'm listing wouldn't have been put up for sale. Now that they are, it makes me happy when items go to someone I believe will really enjoy them! That happening makes a gravely unfortunate set of circumstances bear joy for me instead of sorrow!

@bbbabe3715 Hi Laurel, I also have a White NWT Liz tank that runs larger than the pink one. I haven’t listed it b/c it has a few areas along the strap trim that looks dusty but when I look closely they’re actually tiny little dark colored fibers/thread. (These were my first LP sale purchases from signature stores before I learned that they sometimes try to pawn off less-than-perfect-condition items as Final Sale so I didn’t inspect them closely.)

@bbbabe3715 It’s almost like these darker threads are the material under the trim & then they put the white trim over it but it’s peeking out in spots. I didn’t want to start pulling them out in case it ruined the tank. If you were to wear under a sleeved top these few spots would be hidden. I can take measurements, list & reserve for you tomorrow if you’d like to take a look at the pics.

Maybe you’d consider the cardigan too, as it would definitely coordinate w/both tanks, but no pressure at all. She's a diabetic and has had a cardiac pacemaker implanted this week. she has a blended family of 7 kids and is responsible for her father who is bedridden as my sister passed 15 years ago.

She has no idea what size jeans/pants because she's bought men's in Walmart! lol. Shoes size 8 but no heels as she's had broken ankles and already has spinal stenosis due to MVAs in past. 😘

@vicki_huff It's like a generational curse! Her Mom & I escaped, our middle sister didn't. My mom succumbed to the neurovascular complications of it. Her other grandmother also had it. She had Gestational Diabetes with 2nd pregnancy - I told her it was a Red Flag warning, but, of course, she was told it would resolve. Yes, it would, but still was a Warning of what was to come if she didn't get a handle on it before it happened. Once heard the pancreas described as like a water pump-

Life has had it's rewards but also it's challenges - several reversals of Fortune on business and I career due to critical health concerns. But God is good and I'm learnig & leaning on Him and have great contentment and peace without which life could be extraordinarily difficult. instead, it's a joy!

@lori2205 a side label that has a RN#, which is a requirement of the Federal Trade Commission of any garment intended to be marketed in the USA. Ive seen some Poshers list items they state are authenticated and pix of document. When I've inquired of any, they've said they obtained the document from/through eBay. Frankly, I don't know if anything authenticated in such a manner is legitimate or isn't, but I'm personally hesitant to purchase from such a listing.

@lori2205 Poshmark does offer it's own Authentication for any item which sells for $500 or above. As regards Vintage and Antique clothes & jewelry, I had a brick and mortar Antiques business together with my husband from 1980-2014, but I actually began collecting as a teenager and ardently so while in college, so have acquired a breath of knowledge, although certainly anyone can be mistaken. it's just that I've examined and owned a great many such items.

I've also read comments of those who sell Louie Vuitton or the like having items authenticated by the Design House. Some with such well defined expertise have listings which give tips.on how to determine a fraud from a genuine article. I bookmark those 2 computer. Most Poshers are happy to see everyone learn to prevent dragging Posh''s reputation down by inadvertent error - or worse, deliberate misrepresentation! ❤️ Laurel

I've come down with something that's made my voice a whisper (I think allergies) and began PT Monday for a grossly swollen painful knee. @bbbabe3715 blackouts are the WORST!! The smoke is UNBEARABLE! im having to wear a mask ALL the time to filter the smoke. when the power is out. I've just been trying to get by day by day. our taxes have been on extension, so I'm trying to get that done. I don't have excel in my computer cuz I use Open Office (free!) instead of Microsoft. usually an excel spreadsheet crossing the internet I can access, but not the posh report! so I worked in recreating it sale by sale yesterday, but little further re taxes

in posh, I sold a coat but when I got it out of the single garment bag it was in all alone, it had a large yellow area on the NEW Stark white coat! ive worked on it all weekend to try any trick - it's wool - didn't budge. I took it to a dry cleaner today - cost $16 - I hope they get the mysterious stain out so I can send it and get paid!

CT governor passed exec order two days before that masks were mandatory at any type of gathering (indoors already limited to 10, outdoor limited to 100) with fines imposed. if more than 100 showed up and any weren't masked (which some weren't), niece could have been fined $500

@avelonsattic Health Dept in FL - there were no tests available anywhere there at the time. have asked my primary via electronic medical record to get antibody test. got reply from a nurse they're "not ordering them until we understand the meaning of them." this was 2 weeks ago from the office of a Yale faculty member MD, one who even sits on the Yale School of Medicine Admissions Committee. so that's as far as it goes in terms of even donating serum if I happen to have antibodies!

I only became attracted to Barbie type dolls a couple of years ago. I met a woman who's mother had been the nurse to Maria Von Trapp about whom the Sound of Music was written. She sold me a Barbie that was Maria, carrying a guitar and dressed match the children when she taught them Do-Re-Me!

I'd like a lookup to find items by partial listing info in my own closet and the ability to bring up all the prior offers I've made to various Poshers on any item. sigh it's about 20 months since I joined & only once when I was new did they ask for input for potential improvements.

As far as closet clear out today, I use my phone for most of my poshmark activity, and it pops up at the top under notifications. If you don’t get these kind of notifications, there’s a place in your settings to go to turn them on. I’m retired from sales and just got remarried 3 years ago (a miracle at my age!) so I’m doing Poshmark to clean out my closet and scale back like you. We like to travel and socialize so I don’t want to work any harder than what Poshmark requires! It seems sales have been a bit slow lately but it also seems that they may be picking up. Do you agree?

1) 6 consecutive months as a “regular” (Level 1) PA
2) 20,000 community shares
3) 1 Posher recruited
4) 100 available listings
5) 50 sales
6) 4.7+ ⭐️ rating
7) < 3-day average shipping time.
Plus, there are requirements you have to meet every 3 months (“quarterly”) to KEEP this PA II status, unlike the first level.

I was looking at your closet and seen a couple items that I think you might want to check your price again. One of the items, I believe you’re not aware of the actual age of the item the white picture frame with the gold lines and the raised mat in it with the four photos in them. I recognized three of the places in those pictures and they have not looked that way since shortly after WWII. I grew up in Europe, that’s why I’m thinking you have something worth quite a bit more than you’re asking.

Unless it’s a good copy of an original. The other thing, I believe you’re asking quite a bit more than what you can buy it for in a store, since I have purchased those stoneware blue/white French onion bowls from a store not to long ago to give to a friend as a gift for less than that. I definitely would find out more on the picture frame because these pictures in that frame do actually resemble pictures I’ve seen that were nearly 100 years old. Just don’t want you loosing out; we all need help.

I do of course see reduced shipping offers come up from time to time and in fact saw a few zero cost shipping notifications at odd hours late at night a month or so ago but I don't know about any regularly timed notifications

@islandbaggage I had brick & mortar antique furniture shop 35 yrs, but no antique dealer is expert in all things - if pretend to be, they really know nothing. I've never seen a dish of the design, which isn't antique but rather custom. Very sad to be attacked for merely inquiring about function & size of an item 9 months ago - hardly aggressive & definitely not taking advantage.

But she actually hand/typed for each and every one. Up until a year or so ago, I’ve been helping more and came up with the diagram idea.

That evolved into the “Size.ly” subscription we’ve been using a few months. There are “industry standards” and for tops we had not been measuring the overall length or the arm length exactly “correctly”. Sizely doesn’t consider neck measurements either.

Honestly, I think the “reseller-ruler” standard of attempting to show crucial clothing measurements via tape measure (usually by holding it in one hand against the garment, and shooting a photo with the other) is ridiculous and insulting. It’s so amateurish! Especially when there are industry standard methods employed by the clothing manufacturers in common practice.

That all said, I think it’s overkill. People have become so dumbed down, they’re not capable of even processing basic information let alone seeking it out in the first place. It’s too easy to just look at a picture and click the mouse. It infuriates me.

Here on this platform, it’s very difficult for a buyer to seek a return. There has to be some generally recognized egregious mistake or deception involved. Even then Poshh covers the return shipping!! Which is.. curious. On the big e platform (our primary storefront) we offer 60 day “free” returns. Sizely we feel helps tamp down not only returns, but anyone attempting to claim an item is not as described.
