sweetvelvet @lesbennett1 awww thank you. *smile* What can I say, when I like someone's closet, I share. (I know what you mean, I had a quarter horse growing up, and it was all the little stuff like getting up to feed at 6 am, even when you just wanted to sleep in bc it was the weekend, etc. lol) I think the love never dies though even long after they're gone. I've started two of my little cousins in lessons now. Hopefully it'll become a family passion. *Hugs*

lesbennett1 @sweetvelvet funny story... I turned my two girls on to riding the first time we went together they both did great. Then mama ( me) got up on this crazy horse we rented and I instantly became schooled in bucking bronco. Long story short 10 days in hospital. Broken bones galore! But everything healed thank goodness! I still have great memories of the horse I owned for 6 years. Maybe one day I'll get up there again!

sweetvelvet @lesbennett1 Wow! You poor thing. I'm glad you made it through it. That sounds awful. I got a spoiled rotten yearling when I was in the 8th grade. He was really, really mean, & couldn't be gelded properly. (He was an orphan that was abandoned.) He became sweet, but it took yrs, & he tried to kill me many times first, but thankfully no broken bones. I'm just happy you can look back & laugh. 😊😉

lesbennett1 Too funny. My horse was a 3 year old off the track. I would go to the barn at 11 or so and he'd be lying there relaxing. I would get down in the stall with him and just hang til he was ready. (Kept him at that Barn they used in the movie "Arthur " in caumsett state park here on Long Island ) he was a sweet heart ❤️ used to take him out into the park with my dog and even get off him and just sit under a tree. He must have been a terrible race horse!!

lesbennett1 Sold him, Had babies, divorced and then decided to rent a horse and get my kids into the sport. That d$&@ horse would hardly move . Then I got up on him and squeezed and man he woke up... yikes. !! Yes I can laugh ! We should host a riders club party! Wonder how many of us are out there! Share our war stories!

Wasn't sure if you just glanced at the photos, but my French leather custom-made dressage boots are worlds away from rubber boots you wear to muck stalls. theclotheshound How did you get custom boots for $300?! That's amazing! I got mine as a "show special" at Rolex KY and wound up truly paying $1,300. They've really changed their business model from what I've seen. I know they're different style boots, but it just hurts worse that I threw away so much $ on something I never wore. 😭
