slovesmith @volatpropriis I've only been on Posh since June or July of last year. I've met several really nice people and the sales have been pretty good. Sometimes it's a little slow, but I really enjoy the thrill of making a sale. It's a lot of fun. I haven't tried selling on any other sites. I hear so many horror stories. Of course, I've run into a couple of interesting situations here, but I don't think that can be avoided. But, overall, it is fun here and I do enjoy meeting the other Poshers.

I had no idea there were imperfections .With this said, I know you were disappointed that they sold when you were still interested. That said, it sounds shady that the buyer is claiming there are defects but hasn’t told you what. I’d triple check the earrings when they get back to you to make sure they are the ones you sent out.

ballagren @volatpropriis I wondered about that, too. Posh reviewed the case and approved it. So either I really missed something, or.... what’s frustrating is that I had to ask for the reason and they just said, “undisclosed defects” and nothing more . I asked for more specifics.. The buyer never communicated with me at all. Nothing in their closet. What do you do if that happen?

volatpropriis @ballagren That sounds like they may be setting you up for a switch or an empty box. When you receive the return package I would definitely film opening it and film a very close inspection to protect yourself if they’re scamming you.

volatpropriis @ballagren I sold $700 shoes on me rcari and I was really worried because the Cal found me on here and she had nothing in her closet and she had joined Poshmark two days prior to her purchase. I almost canceled the sale because I was worried about a scam. Even though I taped myself packaging and shipping the item it ended up being unnecessary and all went well. It’s sad that we have to take these precautions sometimes.

volatpropriis @ballagren For me, I tape anything over $400 and anything that could be easily swapped if the buyer were to file a claim. For me, that includes Tieks, DY jewelry, and any jewelry that is common enough to the buyer to have a damaged one they are looking to replace. Kendra S jewelry would fall in that category because it’s very common, very popular, and all the stones are removable.

It’s more of a Swapmeet like offer up but I tend to sell more there even though I priced things a little less and still come out with more in my pocket because the seller fees are lower.

volatpropriis @ballagren oooohhhh what kind of art do you do? I come from a family of artists and if I didn’t have to pay bills I would entertain a whole lot more of my own artistic pursuits. My biggest problem with this reselling thing is that when I find something really fantastic it’s really hard not to keep it. This week I found a 50” strand of 12 mm Tahitian circle pearls for under $100. It’s going to be very difficult for me to part with them LOL.

ballagren @volatpropriis we have A LOT in common! That is my struggle, too! Paying bills has been pretty hard lately,as my work has been slow. I took several classes in soldering/jewelry making. I have pretty bad arthritis in my hands, so I’m starting to work with precious metal clay and enamels. Bought myself a mini kiln, also dabbling in cork fabrics and leather. Really like simple sterling pieces. Currently making some stacking rings. Do you like those?

ballagren @volatpropriis I do have a question for you: I have a Gucci snakeskin bracelet that is 24 karat gold plated. There is one on posh selling it for $140 that is torn. Mine has no tears in great condition, except gold on the inside has worn off some. No wear outside. Any thoughts about the value? Search “Gucci snakeskin bangle” and you may see the other one.

volatpropriis @ballagren I did a little research and typically that bracelet sells for between $30 and $100 on posh. I would list it at $100 if it’s a basic color like blue, black or brown. I would list it higher (maybe $125) for pink, red, multicolor, etc and see what happens.

Also- the Kendra Scott Earrings— it took me a while to find our anything wrong, but there is a slight dip in the middle of the stone. Needed a strong magnifier to see! I think I’ll just keep them . gemlover213 Hi. I was wondering if you would share any info on your transactions with the Posher what you bought the blue spinel that turned out being synthetic sapphire? Did you just get a refund or did you end up getting genuine stones from her? I am looking at a few of her listings and they seem to good to be true. volatpropriis @gemlover213 I’ve looked at her stones and I would avoid purchasing from her. I sent the stone back And received a refund, but that was after paying $35 to a gemologist to inspect it. Of the stones she has that are real, they are extremely poorly cut in my opinion and would need to be re-cut. Any recut would likely lose a third of the weight of the stone and possibly negatively impact color.

volatpropriis @gemlover213 In addition, I feel she’s way overpriced based on quality. Many Of the stones look like they have been damaged by either having been previously set and warm in a ring or shipped over time. Several have facet abrasions and table chips.
