@psycholeopard let me ask someone that knows vintage coach well. The second letter us supposed to indicate country of manufacture. J is supposed to be China. I know she told me once that every once in awhile those were inverted by mistake. If this was the case, R would match the creed description as bring made inthe US

But the 3 is troubling as this indicates the year made. 3 indicates 1993. The problem is in 1993 the bags numbers were assigned only numbers, randomly and had no meaning, usually 123-4567. In 1994, the sytem where one could decipher the serial number was started. The style number was correct. Waiting to hear back

@schoolofrock11 All of this is super, super helpful. I always wanted to find out information about serial numbers to ensure that Coach items were authentic, but the level of counterfeiting has gotten so insane, and I also could not find a place that answered general questions about Coach.

@schoolofrock11 If I found a confusing serial number, I would contact Coach directly. The fact that that Prairie bag's numbers matched the design was convincing enough to think that the bag was genuine.
Is there a place that shows what letters / numbers symbolize (ie. you say R= made in US, J=China)? You have been such a godsend with this information - thanks again!

@psycholeopard the 3 as I said is troubling as well as that should represent the year. This format was not used until 1994 and 3 would mean 1993. There are some very convincing fakes out there, unfortunately. The inversion of the 2 letters is a very rare occurance. Hi Lisa I purchased the jacket but it has issues would u be willing to drop the price in half. I only ask because of the moldy smell the stains on the tear on the arm. I would have to spend easily 0ver 60$ I’d have to have elbow patches put on.

I certainly don’t want you to ship/verification/ for me to have to return. I would love to receive , try on and if it fits, keep but only if you are willing. @psycholeopard yeah I think the original strap on the older Celine box bags doesn’t have clasps on the underside unlike the newer ones. I’m not sure exactly when they changed it, but I thought you would know more about this. But anyways I don’t have issues with it, it was just strange to me upon first impression

Thanks Lisa for accepting my offer😘I have an amazing picture that is kind of a focal point in the family room of my Grandad standing in Trafalgar Square in London, probably in the early 50’s with pigeons flying all around him and one perched right on top of his head. Even a double de let behind him. I had it colored professionally. I was born and lived for the first four years with him and my Nana.

Six months after we came to America he passed away at 58. I was his girl. I now have a ton of wood pigeons or mourning doves that I have bred, in the country, yes they are different from city pigeons, but they are my favorite. I can’t wait to get this piece!! Hi Lisa. I hate to do this but the necklace I just received is very obviously missing a stone next to the amethyst. It is right about at the 3 if it was a clock face. I noticed it right away. I’m not not picking. It is such an adorable little necklace too. I don’t think it fell out in shipping. I looked in the envelope. They are in there pretty well anyways. I thought I would hit you up before I went through Poshmark as to what you want to do. I don’t want it in this condition.

Hey Lisa, just wanted to give you a heads up about the mesh evening bag that you have listed. I have one just like it. What you may not know is that the whole bag is sterling silver and the clasp stones are sapphire. These sell in the hundreds so you might want to rethink your asking price. I’d hate to see you sell it way under value.
