mackenzie_leigh @rcatheron Oh cool! I showed hunter/jumper and dressage for a while, but I am in to barrel racing now. Me and my best friend are wanting to get into endurance riding also.

chicknthesticks @mackenzie_leigh I'm fascinated by endurance riding, and just joined Endurance Green Beans. I haven't volunteered yet or even done a CTR, but I will. I can't get enough by just reading about it, I want to do it. Probably never the Tevis, but maybe the OD. 61 years old, am I crazy or what?

chicknthesticks @mackenzie_leigh Hahaha, first I have to GET in shape! But thanks for your kind words of support. I think you should do it, also. IMHO, it's much healthier for our horses than barrel racing, but that's only my opinion. Several of my trail riding buddies are barrel racers. I used to, way back in my teens.

janetstreasures Hello McKenzie, My husband and I live in Las Vegas. He retires next year so we just bought a farmette in WI and will move onto it by the end of the year. Our adult children and 6 grandchildren live thirty miles from our new farm. Two of our grandchildren are 12 yr old identical twin boys. They were born with 48xxxy so are special needs. We want to get horses and do horse therapy with them and teach them to ride. What type of horse do you think would be good for them?

mackenzie_leigh @janetstreasures Oh so precious! I actually spend alot of my time volunteering at a therapeutic barn in my town. We are taking the kids to compete in the Special Olympics horse show this weekend. I recommend either a quarter horse or a paint. We have 2 paints hat are around 12 years old and are retired police horses. They are sweet and gentle with the kids. We have ponies as well, but they can be grumpy sometimes. :)
