truckin87 Hi Mallory. Thanks for purchasing my Syrocowood. They are actually made of wood pulp and flour not real wood. Real old pieces do tend to smell. I have cleaned mine often. I use TSP with water wipe down and let dry in sun. I have also sprayed with cheap vodka and air out. I am sure it will clean up nicely. Thanks much!

krobertson527 @mallorywidgren it requires a Phillips head screw driver and the battery is not a common one for me to try. I’d have to go buy a new battery.
