mandyk14 @msriri Your killing me lol I wish I could! I actually have a baby skunk that kept coming on my porch and ripping trash bag open. So I figured a solution to that but then he would come and couldn’t find anything to eat so I now leave him food out and I sit behind my closed door and watch him 😍 he’s sooo cute! One time we came into contact with each other, and he didn’t even spray me just ran and hid lol

msriri @_summerella_ Hi :) It is illegal in most states. I do get one now and then that can’t be released, but you have to jump through hoops to get a permit to keep it. You’d have to check the laws in your area.

shopsavoir @msriri I love them all too. We are in a woodsy area so we're blessed to have all kinds of wildlife here. That one squirrel kills me though...aside from sunbathing, he also drags his body, using just the front to arms, across the deck. I'm cracking up just thinking about it! cottagegifts @msriri ohhh that makes sense. I thought they didn’t look like usual sugar gliders but I rationalized that was because they’re young, I know possums pretty well because I’m in Georgia. But usually see the adults. One time, we did see a momma crossing a street with babies on her back!

blissfulfinds79 I know how much work you do saving these babies. My mom used to do the same thing. And it was very normal for me to bottle feed all the baby squirrels before school. It was before the virus that raccoons have, so we were able to have raccoons too. They were so much fun. I was blessed to have such a wonderful mother, and now I’m just like her. She unfortunately passed away too young. Thanks for helping those that need it❤️

hillaryshouston @msriri you know you can make a decent amount of money selling those pics to "stock photography" companies like Shutterstock. Fotolia. Dreamstime. Getty Images. iStock, Stocksy. Crestock. 123RF, etc. They are always looking for photos of baby animals! Just Google "sell my stock photos"

msriri @hillaryshouston That would be wonderful...it is very needed, as many don't even realize that this is a thing. I started in about 2000, when I happened on an injured baby squirrel. I raised and released him and then started looking into qualifications when I learned it was illegal to do that. Internet was not what it is today, so I'm sure it will be easier for you to find info. I also joined forums like "The Squirrel Board" to start learning on my own.....very helpful.

msriri @hillaryshouston To have your own license, you would have to look into wildlife rehabilitators in your state and see what classes and experience is required. Look at your states Department of Natural Resources website and see if there's a link. Some states allow people to help a licensed rehabber without getting certified yourself. Some require working with a licensed rehabber for a certain amount of time before you could go on your own.

h2os56 Oh, thank you for what you do❣️over the years I have taken many critters to a wild life sanctuary. I once saved a baby owl in Floria and took it to the Sun Coast Sea Bird Sanctuary. That was a great journey! They gave us t-shirts and a tour of their great facility. The most recent was my son saved a baby orphaned opossum here in PA. and we drove hours to a wildlife rescue that would take it ❤️ So I’m very appreciative of what you’re doing!

josef_oh_k Saw you had Doc Marten sandals, saw what you do, lookd for and found a shirt and now I will send you $! I worked as a vet technician for a little over a decade in the 80s and 90s. Woulda given my right arm to do wildlife rescue/rehab! Regular house cats can do a good impersonation of wild when they feel like it, though. :)

josef_oh_k @msriri you are welcome! When the pandemic eases I might look into volunteering somewhere here in Seattle. Working with animals is one of the richest experiences there is! I worked for a little while with a woman who volunteered at Woodland Park Zoo and primarily helped care for the primates--she got to know the gorillas here very well. That would be awesome, but I'd settle for snow leopards. ;) Can't wait to model that beautiful shirt at an appropriate social distance.
