hedgehoe Hi. Hope you’re staying safe and healthy. I love hedgehogs! One of the hedgehog groups on Facebook that I belong to the hedgehog owners talk for their hedgehogs. Well the hogs call girls hedgehoes & the boys hedgebros. So all the I love hedgehogs, hedgehog lover, etc were already taken & being a female myself...Hedgehoe worked. I used to have 7 hedgies but am not permitted to have them where I live now but I am still friends with the groups which are so amazing.

zuzu6431 I really didnt know till recently they could be kept as pets ... but you had a lot of them , do they all have to be caged separately or can they be roam out & about your home like a cat?

hedgehoe @zuzu6431 They are solitary creatures so if they are housed together it can only be females & they should only be housed together from a very young age. 2 males together can be fatal. You can let them free roam but it would be hedgehog proofed. They are such amazing creatures.

zuzu6431 @hedgehoe hi Marianne thank you same to you ! I think it's really neat that u got to experience having hedgies , I dont think my state ( California) allows it & with my 2 cats it probably wouldnt be possible anyways but I love the idea of it !

hedgehoe @zuzu6431 Yeah, I don’t think they’re legal in California. Surprisingly though cats & hedgies can & do get along. There are a couple of YouTube videos of a couple different cats nursing an litter of hoglets ( the actual term baby hedgehogs 🦔). They are so amazing & they have the cutest butts! There are people that join the various hedgehog groups on Facebook that are hogless for whatever reason but they love to see pictures & videos of them. There are easily 40 or more hedgehog groups.
