masik_kolbasik I stand behind my word and just amazed the kind of BS people supply trying to sell a fake. Sure, some sellers unsuspected and I always give then a benefit of a doubt, but some are plain nasty fake sellers for a premium price.

masik_kolbasik From what I see here on Poshmark, there is plenty of older fakes, originated from Italy, which has nothing to do with original Hermes scarves, and there are Chinese/Hong Kong fakes, that look a lot like a real Hermes to an unsuspected buyer. There are sources online helping you to spot a fake, like thepurseforum.com, eBay articles. Just google them.

masik_kolbasik I am not a Hermes scarf crusader, just a knowledgeable collector. Poshmark doesn't have many Hermes scarves, but it does have an enormous amount of fakes. It is a shame some gals will pay a ton of money for a cheap fake, that costs $20 in China and offered here for many hundreds.

masik_kolbasik @palemagic, you are very welcome! Yes, this is a common misconception that if a person (or estate) is wealthy there cannot possibly be any fakes. Proven wrong yet again. Wealthy people have rather a mix of genuine, expensive, valuable stuff and cheap knockoffs. They also might be ignorant and/or uneducated about things they buy... or it can be intentional.

masik_kolbasik I know plenty of examples when a pretty wealthy person gives fakes as gifts and giftees don't question authenticity until they decide to sell or just ask about gift's value... Happens a LOT with Hermes scarves and shawls, especially in recent years, when Chinese fakes reached a new level of quality and only a well-trained eye is able to see the difference.

claudiavladu @masik_kolbasik I don't mind telling you at all. First, thank you for your opinion on both carves. It is highly appreciated. I did not accept offer and among the reasons was that item is not as described. I had to fill in why I thought so and attach pictures. Within 1 or 2 days poshmark asked via app for pictures of the tag and after submitting them took another few days for them to approve and cancel the order.

claudiavladu @masik_kolbasik I did not check my credit card to see how long it took them to give me my money back, but I would say that the process took 4 or 5 days. It was not the fastest, but not very complicated either. I'll try to see if I still have the notifications threads and send it your way.

claudiavladu @masik_kolbasik ok, just check history: I received scarf on Jan 11. On Jan 15th poshmark asked for additional pictures and on Jan 17 they approved the return. I hope this helps.

masik_kolbasik @patch970, I found your question when you took the listing down already, so I am answering here. The short answer - Hermes never produced such a pattern. The longer version is - look at other telltales - tag never should say seta, hems are sewn to the front, and almost always by hand, Hermes should have an accent over the second E. There many other signs to look for and that comes with experience. Meanwhile, please feel free to ask for help! HTH

masik_kolbasik @4tlow. Hi there. Hermes never ever produce scarves with those orange labels, it is a dead giveaway of a Chinese fake. They sell it for peanuts on Aliexperess and for $20 on Canal Street in NYC. Sorry. If you got it as a gift and were told this a genuine Hermes, you might want to have a serious chat with that person.

masik_kolbasik @skewlpsych hi! The Purse Forum has authentication section but they have strict rules regarding authentification - like, it should be done before one buys anything, not after the fact. I also run FB group, dedicated to Hermes Scarves only but it is in Russian and members are 75% in Russian-speaking countries, but we have quite a few members who are English-speaking, so they use FB translation. In any case, it should be possible to return that item and warn other buyers... HTH!

I get it commenting on the authenticity of items, to help other buyers, but price? People are free to price their items however they want. the negotiation should be between the buyer and the seller.

lulu77777 Hi Marina, I’m hoping for some help. I’ve been searching for an H scarf called tattersale. It features four large horseheads with bridle on. I found one here on PM (only one poor photo in the listing) but when I asked for more photos and a pic of the tag, the seller said it had been clipped off. She offered to add pics but then ultimately never did and deleted the listing. Has this scarf been counterfeited?
