Hi, Just wanted to say I believe you might be my fav Posher-so, I need your help.. I’m going to buy one of wedding gowns I’ve liked today, just don’t know which one. In real life I’m a 14/16.. my wedding in Jamaica last week I wore a 20w,it felt a little big. after reading some of your conv w other brides, I changed sizes of dresses I loved , thinking I could get seamstress to fix. Is that wise? Would corset be better option? I’ll be buying around June 4. Thanks for wonderful , prompt service.

@danars if you are a 14/16 regular size in bridal you usually go up two sizes so a 20 regular not 20w should fit better if you go to larger size you would need alterations which can be costly. If you like a size 20 and is a little tight you can remove zipper and make it a corset back which will give you the room you need and won’t be much for the alterations

@danars but I do recommend you use a seamstress that works on bridal gowns you can always check with them to see how much they will charge to remove the zipper and make it a corset back.

@danars what month are you getting married there is one you picked Kirstie Kelly size 20 is a simple gown but beautiful and if tight you can make it a corset back. Another one is Sophia Moncelli size 22 this is a corset back but might need alterations (might be a little big) but a beautiful gown any sizes higher than a 22 the alterations might be costly unless you get a seamstress that will do it for a set price

Hello again.. I have decided on the Sophia M size 20.. of course u see cuff and earring I like too.. I have a personal question re: neckline and at bust . I am a breast cancer survivor with scars on right that go back to underarm. Will it be tight enough to keep up and I like the shawl too.. I would love a great deal and hope nothing sells by the 3rd!! It looks like pictures don’t do it justice and I want to wow as an older bride!!

@danars The gown is beautiful - since it is a corset back you can make it tight there is also spaghetti straps that can be added. If you need to hem the gown you can always make detachable cap sleeve from the extra material which would look lovely and give more support than the spaghetti strap or leave it as is with no sleeve since it is a corset back and the tighter you make it will support from waist up

@danars hi just wanted to share with you I just finished radiation treatment I was diagnosed last August with breast cancer. Just thought you are concerned about bust you can always get white organza make it a shawl go around neck under arm and tie it. In the back it should cover any areas you are concerned about and would be way cheaper than making a sleeve and look stunning

Hello. I volunteer at a no-kill animal shelter. Our thrift store was donated 70+ formal dresses (most w/ tags) to sell. Our regular customers have no interest in formal wear so I've been trying to sell them online. However, I don't know anything about formal wear so I was hoping a posher, such as yourself, might be interested in purchasing a group of them at a highly discounted cost. Hi I didn’t even realize that I like to gowns from your closet! Thanks for the offers. I’m still thinking. Good Morning! I have a ReSale Shop in Eastern NM. Would you be interested in consigning your dresses? I am not sure where you are located but most of my brides coming in are looking for size14 and up. We could split the cost of shipping. Dillards also closed here and I am always looking for MOBs. Brides here must drive 1.5 - 4 hours to shop.
