Hi Mary, thank you so much for your order, I hope you enjoy your necklace. It was never wore, I used to sell SILPADA, and it was used for display. It is .925, and can be cleaned and shined with a polishing cloth, or you can use silver jewelry cleaner. Thanks again, Shelia
