I am told though the front counter is closed for Labor Day it may be processed and start it’s journey by people in back. I would still be ready for a delay. jkdesigns I was stuck in bed three weeks. I had to go back to work though to keep a roof over our heads and though it took all I had and lots of resting, the first week was okay. In Special Ed we wait for all the other teachers to make their schedules before we can make ours. Though we benchmarked our kids, we didn’t hold classes in the resource room yet.

marshmnd @jkdesigns you’re a special Ed teacher? How did that never come up? I was an ESL teacher— adored my job— but ultimately taught journalism at the same middle school. One of my shining accomplishments was having the kids I taught how to speak English end up being some of my star writers on the school newspaper! Special Ed is a challenge though. My best friend taught SE for 30years. You need to be a very special person to be a SE teacher.

jkdesigns @marshmnd I am not a full teacher. I have a Masters of Gine Arts. I am a parapro to two special Ed teachers but I teach math & reading everyday. I taught via Google classroom through COVID too. We are an inclusive school & our kids all have IEPs. We get all kinds, from Down’s & Autistic to Emotional & Behavioral cases.

marshmnd @jkdesigns hi Jen, we’ve had a bit of an upheaval recently—my artist mom(who makes all the leather bracelets) has taken a downward turn—she and her husband were supposed to move into a condo but we moved them instead into independent/assisted living. She is not taking her changed circumstances well. She won’t accept how compromised she is, nor will she stop spending money she doesn’t have. So it’s been really really tough on us all.
