pinktenaj Hi Melissa looks like you bought a Dyson hair tool? Unfortunately these are huge scams here right now. I spoke with a woman who bought one like this and it was a cheap knockoff, even heard of them catching fire. These same pics are in multiple closets. The woman above had even accepted it but got a refund after opening a case. Posh is very aware of these scams. I’m not trying to be nosy just looking out for you. I’d get ahold of customer service or cancel if you are in that time frame.

pinktenaj @melanne8 You’re very welcome for the heads up. I’m not real familiar with how to tell if it’s a scam and if you need advice the closet @struggling_2010 has a post at the top of her closet and has helped others I’ve referred. She’s a wealth of knowledge and can give you lots of guidance. The woman I spoke of who bought one and had even accepted it got a refund. Posh is very aware of these scams. I hope it all works out for you🙂

mbt_2022 @melanne8 see if the QR code scans. If it doesn’t then 100% fake. Also call Dyson to see how many times the serial number has been registered. You can register a real Dyson serial number multiple times on the Dyson website and this is how scammers are passing their fakes off as authentic. If registered more than once, it’s a scam.

mbt_2022 @melanne8 also easiest way to see if fake is to look at the vent holes. If they’re perfect round with space in between, then fake. Real ones are more honeycomb patterned with very narrow spacers between.

melanne8 @pinktenaj it’s definitely a fake. I took photos and reached out to poshmark. I am so disappointed but so appreciative for your heads up. I would have never known 😩

pinktenaj @melanne8 I’m so sorry this happened to you, these scammers have done this to countless people and it will only get worse with people looking for gifts at this time of year. I always try to warn then refer them to this wonderful woman with so much good advice to give and clarify what we suspect about these fakes. You should get your refund most I have talked to did. Posh is very aware of these, I report the ones I run across every day.

pinktenaj @melanne8 Great! I didn’t think they would question your return, they’re very aware of what’s going on with these scams. These guys have started burying these in their closets under kids clothes and toys and stealing pics of families looking all wholesome😳. They’re getting wise and not just listing 5 of these and nothing else, how they sleep at night I have no idea. You’re very welcome for any help I could provide and thanks for letting me know the outcome🙂
