Meet your Posher, Melissa

Hi! I'm Melissa. To me clothing is a form of art and self expression. I always pick a clothing item as a souvenir when I travel - who needs another knickknack! Clothes are memories, special occasions and events. They can evoke feelings as you remember times of happiness when you wore them, places you traveled when you bought them, and precious memories with people you love. I am a child of God, mom to 3, a wife, a nurse, a pet/animal lover, a travel enthusiast, an amateur floral arranger. I’m in my 40’s and right now most of my wardrobe doesn’t fit me. I gained 15-20 lbs while caring for my terminally ill father for 2 years. During that time I struggled to care for both my household and dad and wore not much else than sweatpants (uncharacteristic of me historically). He has passed away now and I am focusing on healing my body physically, mentally, and emotionally. I hope to fit back into my clothes again one day, but in the meanwhile, Poshmark is a great way to buy “temporary” (hopefully) clothes while I regain my health. And if this is just the new body I am in, even after I return to myself, then it will be a great place to let go off all the pretty clothes I have - the pieces of me that someone else can make memories in. Piece of advice: love yourself at any size, you are just as worthy and valuable no matter your weight - AND buy clothes that fit - nothing can make you feel more unattractive then clothes you have outgrown.
