Hey girlfriend! BTW Welcome to poshmark!! 🎀🎀🎀 My name is Karis, and I've been shopping and selling on here for YEARS. I'm basically obsessed!! lol I buy and sell almost every day now- so Feel free to reach out and tag me if you have any posh questions that I can help you with! xo & Happy Poshing!
meshell12
@karisrenee thanks!! I do have questions and the faq's don't really answer them lol. Can u explain bundling to me and y people use it or don't?!
karisrenee
@meshell12 yessssss ok here's the skinny. I think that just about everyone does bundle- the question is what method they use. As you've seen, there's a button to "bundle" listings from people. This essentially puts all your selections in like a shopping cart so you can checkout all at once. Sounds great! However, this feature marks all the items you bundled as "SOLD" in the sellers closet.
karisrenee
Typically, this is fine- but for sellers who have several of the same item to sell, they typically like to keep their listings UNsold so that all the other people who have liked it can still come back to it and see it's still available. The bundle feature is a NEW feature that all of is sellers did not have in the early days of posh.
karisrenee
Back then, you just want thru on whatever items you wanted saying "add this", " this ", etc on whatever you wanted, and we'd create a bundle listing for you to buy. This marks your items as sold, but keeps the original listings still open for others! (And sometimes when you have like 100+likers, it's important to keep it open).
karisrenee
But everyone wants to help you buy and bundle because who wants to pay for shipping several times from the same place?? And what buyer wants to keep track of several labels for you when 1 will do to send ask to one place? You know? 👍👍
I personally, prefer to bundle the manual way (or the old way lol ) because there's another new feature that i like to try for for all my customers....
karisrenee
The "price drop shipping discount" is also a new poshmark feature. This was created to encourage likers to buy those saved liked items that have gone on sale! If a seller drops the price on an item you've liked by 10% or more, you will now get an awesome notification in your news feed saying "karisrenee had dropped the price on ____this item you liked!" Nowwwww there is a random discount that is sometimes attached as well.
karisrenee
Completely random and 100% controlled by posh, from time to time- that price drop notification will ALSO say
"karisrenee has dropped the price on ____this item you liked! ✨Get in now for discounted shipping if you buy with in 1hr✨". I love trying to get that extra bonus for my customers! And while it doesn't always work, it's always worth a try!!
karisrenee
That's why i like to create new listings for bundles and even individual items- because i originally list the item(s) at like $700 (or something else crazy high lol), which reserves the listing so no one else buys before you AND ALSO it allows me to drop to the final price and attempt to trigger the " price drop shipping discount ".
karisrenee
When you drop the price on an item that 200 people liked, then EVERYONE comes running at once to buy. But separate custom listings reserved for each person allows only 1 person to be notified and keeps it from being so competitive🎀🎀🎀
meshell12
@karisrenee wow that's crazy!! Lol. Good to know! I will def look into that. Now I get notifications that people added my items to a bundle. Y can't I see what they added?!
karisrenee
@meshell12 hmmm that's strange! For me, when you go to my news feed, and it shows were people have added my listings to a bundle, on the far right, it shows the listing that they have bundled! It will likely not show all of this detail in your push notifications on your phone or mobile device, but if you go to your News Feed, and click the button that says "comments" in the center,
karisrenee
this will sort all your notifications based on the important comments that you need to see. This eliminates share and like notifications, and you can see just when people have tried to message you, AND also this is where all your bundle notes will show up all in one place. With these differed results, note try to Look for your bundle notifications there, and see if at the far right you see a small picture of the item that they've attempted to bundle.
karisrenee
Depending on what device or operating system you're using, some people have access to a feature that's called "my bundles" (around the settings, my likes, my closet options). Note that this will only show items that you have bundled in attempt to purchase. This will not show bundles that people have tried to create from your page. This is actually kind of a good thing, though, because some people will add like 20 of your listings to a bundle, and then never buy it LOL
meshell12
@karisrenee ok now I can see them lol!! Comments section is a lot easier 😜 so
People will bundle but that doesn't mean anything to me really unless they comment about bundling or an offer comes thru, right?!
karisrenee
So, I don't take those bundle notifications nearly as seriously as I do when people have made offers on my items or commented on my items. Because there's no commitment with adding something to a bundle. And the only times I really follow up with people on adding things to a bundle, is because of the "several items, one listing" thing lol like when they've added something that I want to keep available for a lot of other people.
karisrenee
((Like, I may have 5 plaid scarves on hand, and a hundred people have liked that one listing)) so I might reach out to someone who's added that scarf listibg into their bundle to let them know that I can create a separate listing for them. But honestly when they just add my solo pieces to a bundle (like a piece that I only have one of, which is the most common situation for most sellers), it really doesn't matter what they do when adding to a bundle. It's about whether they buy it or not.
karisrenee
And if you are selling more basic items, like one of a kind type items where you don't own any duplicates to sell, then I would recommend for you to go in and set up the bundle discount percentage that you would like to offer people. You can give anything you want within the settings that are there, but my bundle discount is currently set to zero because I like to manually create my bundles.
karisrenee
But you should totally set your bundle discount at maybe 10 or 13%?? Whatever you like! so that when people DO add your listings to a bundle, they can see how much they are saving, and they'll be more likely to buy that bundle immediately. For me, they just add things to a bundle, see 0%, and then ask me 'whats up girl don't you offer discounts on bundles like everyone else??' Lol And then I tell them about how I bundle in that listing of mine that i just tagged you in haha
meshell12
@karisrenee gotcha!! A lot of info, thanks so much for explaining it all 😊 much appreciated!!
karisrenee
Exactly!!!! @meshell12 you have got it girl!
Someone might even hit you up and say, hey I just bundled like 50 of your items, is there any way that you can give me a better price on the items that I've bundled?, and then you might want to go in and create a manual bundle listing just for them, and that way they can make an offer on their bundle,
karisrenee
and you guys can negotiate on that on a case by case basis. I think that every transaction is unique, so I like to do that for everyone, but based on what you have, if I were you, I would just set my bundle discount, and don't even pay it any attention when someone adds to a bundle unless they ask a question about it or make an offer
karisrenee
Sorry for the novel!!! LOL but now you've got the inside scoop 👍👍
meshell12
@karisrenee no I'm glad u novel, I like novels lol. Two of my friends told me about this app so I decided to ck it out. I decided to be s stay at home
Mom almost 3 yrs ago so my work clothes r just sitting there and my taste in style has changed. I figured I'd give it s try before I donate it. Y not 😊 I have three kids so any money helps at this point lol 😜
meshell12
@karisrenee .. Ok so say I bundle 4 things at 10%.. Say total is $40. After taking 10% discount and then 20% to Poshmark, that's $27. Isn't that a lot to go down or should u raise a couple dollars to offset?! Or am I thinking too much ! Lol 😁😳😜
karisrenee
@meshell12 haha no you're right! It's quite a bit to come down when you actually look at how much you'd be making at the end of the day. So you haaave to think it through before you settle on a discount or even your final price. That's actually the reason why I can't go lower on that bundle that you wanted from me.
karisrenee
See, for example, all three of those items together were $55. So I come down to $48 (or almost 13%) and then poshmark's 20% takes my final earnings down to $38.40. So, while id love to give you your offer of $40 for all of them-once the commission comes out, I'm not even making $40 from the $48 price lol does that make sense?
karisrenee
And then you see why some people resort to using unapproved methods like páyPal or others lol If we were in person, then sure! Taking 40 bucks for all 3 items would actually be a better deal than the $48 price on Poshmark, but to keep the sale protected, that 20% is really important to factor in 👍 i hope that makes sense!!
Sryyy for the delay btw, I'm out running errands and checking posh sporadically!
meshell12
@karisrenee no I totally see lol. I understand that Poshmark has to gain some money on their end but it is a lot considering that u want to see the stuff cheap to get rid of it!

Welcome to Poshmark 💟
