Hi! I'm Monica. Thanks for stopping by! I've been living in Seattle my whole adult life since transplanted here as a Navy kid - I love all that this beautiful city has to offer! Recently married (late), and retired (early), I started my journey with Poshmark to downsize my large wardrobe. As a former finance/accounting professional I acquired a wardrobe from working across several industries, from tech, to manufacturing, to retail, to foodservice and hotels, to banking. I've never forgotten the advice from my mom, that if you want to be a professional you need to look like one. And with a passion for clothes, I've always dressed the part - whether it be hip and mod, casual, or conservative. I also had a dream of running my own business and once left my finance career to open a women's store. It was an amazing journey - couldn't make through the recession in 2009, and lost a ton, but I've never regretted the risky adventure - lessons learned, and personal growth achieved. All worth the risks! Now I care about sustainability - hooked on thrifting and cutting waste. There's so much to go around! Poshmark is the perfect platform to spread the joy of my finds while also having a small part in helping save our environment through reuse and resale, and make a few bucks to sustain my journey in retirement. I ran out of steam by noon and just couldn't load anymore in my little trolley but got so many great things. I would have loved to be there for the freebies the next morning. monseattle @mysmile4me Hi, yes, happy to help! Did you receive a confirmation email for your sale? Looking at your closet I don't see any "solds." The confirmation email will have a shipping label to use when you ship out your item. Best thing to do is get acquainted with the Guide to Poshmark, and FAQ's that can be found in the dropdown menu through your profile icon at top right screen. I find the FAQ's helpful by using the search bar. But let me know if any specific questions. The process is quite easy!

monseattle @mysmile4me At a new Posher, be careful of scams that may come your way notifying of sale through comments in your profile - I don't see any, but it's common with newbies. Items sold will immediately be marked sold, and you'll receive a confirmation email. Did you receive some sort of notification of the sale?

mysmile4me Thank you so much for that. I did briefly look over a Guide to Poshmark, and I may not have explained myself correctly. what I did was reposh a pair of jeans. I haven't had any offers yet but I just want to be sure that I understand it all. the way you explained it makes sense, when somebody accepts the price, then these other things fall into place and start happening such as the emails and the shipping label. thanks again for being friendly, very few people out there like that now.

monseattle @mysmile4me Got it - first thing is you may want to send offers to Likers. They may counter, or accept the offer, or more often you may not receive a response at all. Often times shoppers are window shopping and may like items to consider for the future, or they may put items in a bundle for an offer or to think about for the future. In any event, feel free to send questions my way through the process - I've been here a year now and still learning!

monseattle @mysmile4me If you are on Facebk... you may want to join groups - I've learned a ton of tips there that are not in guidelines. Groups such as: Poshmark for Beginners, Poshmark Sellers Only, Poshmark Thrifting, Poshmark Closet Tips & Techniques... all very helpful depending on how far you want to go with this as it can be a lot of work. 😊

mysmile4me I got something from Poshmark, someone accepted my price and I was walking through the steps of receiving payment, they asked how I wanted to be paid and what card I wanted to use, I entered the information, and then a warning came up and said that the bank wanted more information, they wanted to know what the current balance was on the card, and that sounded fishy to me. what do you think?

monseattle @mysmile4me That sounds VERY fishy. If someone clicked accept, the item in your closet would immediately be marked sold, and payment can only be redeemed by you once it's received and accepted by the buyer. There should be NO communication off Poshmark, and under no condition should you be providing your credit card info. There isn't even an option to be redeemed through cc. If you gave out your credit card I think you need to contact your bank and report fraud and get a new one.

mysmile4me yes, I did just check that card and there weren't any additional charges on it and I turned it off, so I should be safe. wow, that's never happened to me before
