Thank you so much! You are a true Posher and a Gentlewoman! If I may ask, do you buy for a store or your personal use? I have a lot of vintage clothing and shoes, purses, etc. My mother never got rid of anything. She is still hanging in at 90, but she wants more room in her closets, attic, etc,

@lex1952 Hi, I buy for my own personal use. However, in the past I shopped specifically to sell on ebay for about 7 years, but I sold 90% vintage costume jewelry and 10% other vintage items. I have a passion for the past. If you list vintage handbags, jewelery, shoes and accessories please let me know I would be very interested. The universe I guess aligned me with Poshmark a few short weeks ago and I'm happy to pass on many new or one time used items to someone else.

I was intimidated by EBay. Too much hassle. I bought from Posh and decided to get rid of some of my things and now I am going crazy! It is fun, but I don't have the pricing/ profit thing in control. I will let you know when I dig up more goodies!
I also like mid century. However I was born in 1952, so I remember it all first-hand!

@lex1952 Funny I was intimidated by Posh momentarily, but I'm finding that it's really an easy app to utilize. Yes, ebay can be a hassle, but the profits are worth the hassle and you reach international buyers with a ratio of 2:1 or 3:1 to the US dollar...so they have more to spend. I would still be doing a certain volume, but life is somewhat on hold to care for my Mom who has Alzheimers. Any who, show me whatcha got when you can. Have a beautiful day!

Do you need to find a "Nitch" ? My closet is all over the place? Good or bad?
Is there a cyclical thing with buying? Does it just "dry up" during the month?
Do you see any major errors in how I list?

@lex1952 It's a nice dress, but my styling is different. First way too much material (can not endure hot flashes), Second I'm a size a7/8 (training I can squeek a 6) and I'm more classic in style like Audrey Hepburn....lol. However, it's a cool dress. Thanks for sharing!!!

Thanks for the info! I started basically in May and I am crushed that I am not a speaker at Poshfest! Will you attend? Living in Indiana a quick trip to L A is out of the question. Those pricier vintage purses of mine would sell better on EBay, or Esty but I am really concerned about all of the hassle. I assume it is worth it?

I'm still trying to decide if this is short term or long term. I've been an eBay seller for almost 7 to 8 years...maybe longer, but a hiatus to care for my Mom...slowly getting back to it....hummmmm. The answer it's less hassle on ebay to sell my jewelry...list it and people will check it out.

@lex1952 Currently, I list my Vintage jewelry as buy it now or best offer and ebayers of jewelry don't tend to Low Ball :/. I think because they have an understanding of Vintage and Antique jewelry. Vintage jewelry is still highly collectable and lots can pretty much sell themselves with the right collection of pieces and pricing. Most of my business was international. But, I encourage you to check it out for yourself. Keep your options open..double up.

Thank you dear! Everything I read in the HELP section said it was done by the buyer. I did the same thing in your closet. That action icon was not inside my listings, but it was when I went in as a buyer. The buyer made an offer on one item and I accepted because of the other items she was buying. She only purchased the item she made the offer on. Thought that was kinda stinky. So we are working thru the rest. It's almost 1am here & I'm pooped!

Class reunion was weird, awkward, etc. My granddaughter had a temp of 101.9 when it was time for me to leave, which was upsetting. But I did see a few people I was really glad to talk with. So not a total loss

@lex1952 I gotcha...two different types of transactions happening...so you have to unfortunately work around it. Can't do bundle and accept offers at the same time...so adjust the listings to make it happen then let her bundle...app needs significant improvements.

She just let me know she wants the suit that she made the offer on and had paid for. She wants to bundle one other item - not two as initially indicated - and she wants a bundle. Like I said, seems like she changed her mind once she got what she wanted at the price she wanted. Or am I not looking at this properly?

Yes it is slower. Seems like the first "Sale" on the 4th last summer was much busier. Last two sales I sold nothing. Anyway, 99% of what I buy for resale is under $10. I have some things I paid .50 & $1. So I can mark down.
But sometimes that doesn't even help. Hey, your Closet is so darn classy! I am impressed.

Gurl, everyday is a new beginning to start fresh. So with that said LIFE gets very challenging and I've been doing my best to hang in there...on hang on...push forward. Mom is doing good...she's stable right now...feeling grateful for each day💕.

No flooding in my area, but significant rain leaked into my car trunk and shorted out everything so now renting a car. I appreciate hearing from you. . As you well know caring for your mother can be draining & POSH is great therapy. My mother is 90 a fall risk & she broke her tailbone 12/6/16. She had hip replacement 2 months prior. I have quardianship of my 9 year old granddaughter who is wonderful. Now after a 6 year absence her mother/my daughter wants more involvement in Lola - my granddaughter's life. Thinking of vacationing from POSH, but I sure don't want to. Any Advice?!

Anywho, we have to take care of ourselves when and as much as we can to be able to care effectively for others. I've made a commitment to myself to do just that more often. How do you feel about your daughter wanting to be more involved? I know there must be a range of thoughts, emotions and concerns involved.

You are exactly right! Posh is fun, but life & family over-ride everything. I want to take a couple of weeks and establish some order in this chaos. My daughter is 33, had her first arrest at 15, drugs-lots of them, men-the worst, choices-pft! I've had Lola for 6+ years. Since her mother showed up last summer, Lo's grades tanked & she's angry & confused. If my daughter left town tomorrow I would throw a party🤡😜🤗🎉 That's not going to happen. Thanks for your ear!💋💋💋💋❤

Absolutely love your closet. I love vintage "anything" My home is over run with those anythings. I have several special collections from jewelry to dishes to furniture. Our roles have changed, but I can say I love her like I've never known love, devotion and dedication. I thought I loved her before, but I love her more and its deep. @augustbellhome I've been holding on very tight...at times the fingers start to weaken and I'm reminded that I'm very human and not a cyborg...lol. The profound responsibility still keeps me awake at night...the lows are the worse, but it strengthens me I guess in an odd way, but NEVER DESENSITIZED...not one bit...my heart still races in fear sometimes...is this it, but I get more time ♥️.

@augustbellhome My first love and passion is vintage jewelry since I was a little girl, but since that time I ventured into other areas....some I shouldn't have bothered with, but sometimes you have to try to get it out of your system and determine that what you thought would be amazing only resides in your head...lol. I guess you can say I'm still a jewelry collector, but found the art of letting go from conducting estate sales and selling my most favorite pieces...

@augustbellhome Part 2. ...after that it's been super easy. Now, I can simply photograph and admire with the click of a button. I once considered creating a jewelry book with my photographs, but taking care of Mom and other responsibilities makes it difficult. I have a customer in Oslo, Norway that used 90% of the jewelry I curated for her boutique in a jewelry coffee table book she created last year. I hope she's able to have it translated into English, because the book is amazing.
