tenleyhines Hi Nancy, I'm sorry about the odor you are smelling on the vest. It was washed with Gain only, just prior to shipping, so the smell must have occurred in transit. I also recall looking at the buttons and looking at the pictures now and not seeing any tarnishing, so I'm surprised to hear that as well! I always make every effort to ensure my items are described properly, so I'm sorry this happened.
