lauraslowinski @nelina_02 Hello, my son is still having trouble setting up the watch. It says that I need the original Apple ID and password from when the watch was set up the first time. Once I get that, then I can change it to my Apple ID and password and synch the watch to the phone.

lauraslowinski From reading online, it says that you have to log out of the watch and unpair it from your phone. I also read something about disabling the activation lock.

lauraslowinski @nelina_02 Hello, I spoke to the Apple company last night and they told me that your account is still synched with the watch. There is an activation lock placed on the watch account. They said that you have to go to your Google cloud, enter you Apple ID/password and then sign out of the Apple Watch and deactivate your account. Until you do that my son can’t use the watch due to the activation lock place on it.

lauraslowinski @nelina_02 Hello, no unfortunately my son still can’t synch the watch to his phone. A new message popped up today that states “a password is required to activate this device because the owner has used Find My Phone to link it to her Apple ID. If you were given this device than you will need to contact the owner to have them remove this device from their account” I think you will have to remove the watch and your account from the Find my phone app. Make sense? Hopefully that will finally do it.

lauraslowinski @nelina_02 My son just tried to log on again and it’s says “activation lock prevents anyone who is not the owner from logging in. To unlock this Apple Watch please enter the Apple ID/password that were used during set up.”

lauraslowinski @nelina_02 Is it possible for you to call Apple 800-275-2273 and ask them to disable the watch from your phone. I’ve called them but without the original Apple ID and password that was used to set up the phone, they can’t help me.

lauraslowinski @nelina_02 I called the Apple company again and they say that the “activation lock” is still enabled on your phone. Hopefully if you call them they can get it disabled for you so my son can use the watch. Thanks!
