laura_lately Hi. I just want to say that I appreciate you warning ppl about that PS5 scammer. I tried to warn that person last night & was immediately blocked (like always). This specific scammer has been scamming since @ least November under multiple accounts. He currently has another one up right now with a slightly different # but always same description. He has scammed a ton of ppl for months by getting them to go off site.

brown_suga_228 @lalafro8 I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s the same person who tired scamming me, but every time I see an PlayStation I always warned folks and I also report the add to posh mark it’s again the rules sale to someone and ask for money to be sent offline.

laura_lately @brown_suga_228 I report too but unfortunately these accounts aren’t taken down quickly enough. This specific scammer (there’s been a few Ps5 scammers I’ve tracked on here since the fall) always uses the same #s with New Jersey area code & uses the sad face emoji. Usually steals different women’s photos & uses them as his own on each account. It’s awful.

laura_lately @brown_suga_228 yes, it’s down but there will probably be another account back up within the next few weeks, maybe the next few days. He went M.I.A. for a few months but has been very active again since the start of spring so definitely be on the lookout. I try to reach out to ppl who comment instead of commenting on his listings bc he always blocks me immediately which makes me so mad!

laura_lately And I say “He” bc months ago I called him out for actually being a man & his response was “your mother’s a man.” Things he has said to me really make me think it’s a guy doing this. Not to say women can’t & don’t scam others also but all of the other PS5 scammers I’ve tracked on here so far have been men too.

And I agree, they will be re-posting it again I’m sure!! Hopefully 🙏🏽 everyone who see’s it, is smart enough to know NOT to pay outside of the posh app....

But after talking to her she kept pushing the fact she wanted the money google pay, I then knew it was something wrong, but silly me did it anyway but thru the posh app.. that’s how I got my money back... They do it never shipped

laura_lately @brown_suga_228 yeah, a lot of ppl still don’t realize that those cash_apps don’t protect them @ all. Unfortunately, we can’t trust everyone these days bc there are far too many ppl just trying to make a quick buck by screwing the next person over. But I do whatever I can to warn ppl bc I hate seeing anyone lose their money.

laura_lately @brown_suga_228 check out frenchi1012..this is another scammer who has been very active in the last few months. He always tries to get ppl to pay shipping off site through a visa gift card or CC & then never sends the PS5. Has used multiple accounts since @ least Feb.

laura_lately Well it’s already gone but that scammer will be back too. He always asks ppl to message him to get their # so he can have them send him money for shipping. Makes no sense whatsoever but ppl have fallen for it bc he acts like he’s selling a PS5 through Posh so they think it’s legit but he doesn’t have one. He takes the money the buyer sends him for shipping & then cancels sale. Will look like item has sold & then he puts up another duplicate listing (as if he has multiple PS5S) over & over again.

laura_lately @brown_suga_228 he always blocks me immediately if I comment too so that’s why I didn’t tag his name when I told you about him. He use to post his number but now he asks ppl to message him & requests their numbers . He switches stuff periodically but always does the shipping off site bc he knows it looks more legit if the ps5 goes through the app. It’s funny he always puts no scams please in his description🙄😂 but he’s the the scammer!

Besides the game console has been out for a while I would think, it’s available in stores now... If not then just keep waiting... Instead of losing money.

laura_lately @brown_suga_228 they’re still hard to get bc when stores restock they’re still selling out really quickly but it’s not worth risking your money on these shady cash_apps nor is it worth paying above retail to sellers who price PS5s twice their value. I wanted to get one for my oldest son @ Xmas but when I couldn’t then whatever. I’m not breaking bank or being swindled by these scammers but I’ve made it a mission to try to stop them from doing it to others.

There’s another posher who has been going after them too for months & she’s gone so far as to write Poshmark a letter (she’s called them & they never answer the phone), calls the scammers numbers (they never answer), & purchase the PS5s through Posh just to prove they aren’t legit.

laura_lately @brown_suga_228 I checked & I’m blocked too which I’m guessing he did last night after deleting my last comment. I know Poshmark must be inundated with reports of scams but they need to hire more ppl for their fraud department bc they don’t deal with these accounts quickly enough. Or they could gladly pay us a small fee & we’d do it for them😊
