pvhazeltine @tnacomix it appears to be either a cotton voile or handkerchief weight linen, not muslin. it also appears to be about 10 yards, so yes I can use it even if she started to stitch on it. nothing a seam ripper cannot handle!! thank you.

pvhazeltine @tnacomix I understand your mil's frustration, I had my eyes "fixed" cataracts, and now I have trouble seeing up close, when it was always the other way around. But the mountains are sure beautiful!! A few a accessories help now, magnifying mirror, special readers, mag lights to thread needles... and thank the goddess, (lol), my hands are fine.

harebrained9 I'm sorry you were disappointed in the fabric. I did the best I could in description. These were not mine, and had I known to tell you more about the particular pieces, I would have. In my opinion, the heavy box of fabric was yards of material.

pvhazeltine @karinneolesen oh crap....I meant to say I did NOT mean to offend! sheesh....damn auto correct! Anyway, no, the tie design and the way it was made is fine. I really do like it. So please you do not need to replace it. It was solely an issue with odor. A box of dryer sheets with a nice fragrance, even cutting each sheet into 4 pieces will go a long way with an occasional funky piece. Just a suggestion.

hoarderhaven I found a doily you might like. had it for decades, as I pull things from storage unit abandoned for years. was going to do a trade w/another posher. She to mend in exchange for stuff from my store. move so much things got lost like sewing stuff. Plus bedridden can't reach things for myself anymore. it made me think of you.
