Hi! I'm Paula. I refer to myself as a "recovering shopaholic"! I have unearthed lots of treasures in my closet and jewelry box that I hope to get listed over time. Most of it will be rarely worn. I have a tendency to buy a new wardrobe every season yet wear my same few favorites repeatedly. When I list the retail price at $0 it merely means I don't have a clue what I paid for it! We are about to move to Bend OR and I hope to get a lot more use out of my CB boots there than I do here in the greater Seattle area. @missbora Now you see why I love JW and don't need your dressier things...although I adore them! I'm into casual and western/southwest these days. My husband built the house that you see in the background himself. Took him 6 years, but it's a one of a kind beauty! He even chopped down the trees for the outside pillars and Interior floors. He's truly talented.

@missbora I wonder if they have a website?? I need to get my husband to Oregon. He's a true cowboy and loves that kind of country. We made it as far as the Cheyenne rodeo a couple of years ago. The problem with him is that I can't get him to be gone longer than 5 days. The cows might need him!

@declynnsgranny too funny I think our husbands would be friends. Only mine has a passion for Native American material culture. Something he is studied since he was a small boy, he loves to study and collect. I'm hoping when we move you'll be able to wear a lot of his western things much easier.

@missbora mine also has a passion for Indian culture. We're both part Cherokee. His family traces back to some of the famous warriors. My family was embarrassed to be Indian as so many were back then, so I don't have a clue as to my ancestry. My husband has quite the collection of arrowheads that he's found over the years. I didn't realize that you and Nicole didn't live in the same town. You'll love being closer! That's how I ended up in Oklahoma from Texas.

We do live only 10 minutes away from the kids but they bought a house in Bend OR and taking us with them. Our new place will be built asap. We have been in the same place for 25years so much to go through in the next couple of months to prepare ❤

@missbora I don't know how you're going to go through everything in such a short time! In my previous life I moved every 5 years. I'd buy an older home..remodel it...get bored and look for a new house to work on. I purged with every move but still have too much stuff! The last house I refurbished was originally Conway Twitty's house in Norman...complete with hair salon and recording studio! Now that I'm married to a rancher instead of the doctor this will be my final move.

@missbora You're lucky to have found Paul so many years ago. I'm envious. I met my cowboy 7 years ago and we married on his 75th birthday almost 3 years ago. He's 16 years older than I am...he fibbed about his age when we met. Took 10 years off and I believed him! Not sure I would have ever gone out with him had I known from the beginning. But, by the time I figured it out I was hooked! Wouldn't trade him for the world. ❤

@declynnsgranny So good you didn't as he seems perfect. Paul just turned 78 and is 15 years my senior. The picture of the two of us is from 2 years ago and he hasn't changed. I am more than lucky... totally blessed! He is almost the best gift God has ever given me... as well as Nicole and now the two sweet boys @2wilddandelions.

They're originally from my home town. I have a closet full of custom boots they made for my parents. Never wear them but can't part with them. My husband's favorite dancing place is The White Elephant. I wouldn't mind trying other places but, he's set in his ways!

@declynnsgranny I'm not sure, very well may have been. My Mom and one of my sisters both are in Hurst and when ever we visit it is a must to go there so we can get our Texas fix. I'm hoping to get a lot more use out of my many boots in Bend OR that I have here in Seattle. I don't wear them much here and I have collected some great ones, probably none as wonderful as what you must have, but I like the older styles with a little more rounded toe. I've held onto 6 of the best pairs.

@declynnsgranny so here's two questions for you. I have yet to find the perfect pair of jeans that my boots don't shoe through at the top...and what to do about boots that are already broken in that cut in on the ankle bone? I have a few that do that and I've tried everything to make them comfortable and researched even considering an ankle guard.

@missbora I don't know about the jeans. I don't really have that problem. As for the boots...I do have the same problem. I have narrow flat feet. Sometimes the boots are never comfortable there. I wear as thick of socks as the boot will allow which helps some. You're going to laugh at me but my favorite boots are Corrals. They are SO comfortable on me. Try on a pair of them and see if they're better.

@declynnsgranny thanks so much. I have cut the tops off a thick pair of Paul's old socks and that helps a bit, but I'm determined to find a fix as these are beautiful old boots. The Jean thing, maybe I just haven't found the best cut, it's usually the boot pulls that stick out a bit, plus I am very picky about clean lines.. I suppose I need to loosen up a bit. 😍

@nvtami Your Silpada caught my eye but then I saw all of the WHBM! I had a lot of that myself when I worked. Now I'm casual/western myself. I like your casual pieces but am not sure what size I am now. I used to wear their XS/S... but, have gained a pound or 3 so I might be a medium now. I love the outdoor pics you took. Have to admit, I had to creep to see where you were from! Th inside of your house looks a lot like mine. 🙂

I may re list 2 of them because typical for me...I've already chosen my 2 favorites and reach for them. The other 2 sit in the closet! They were all NWT. I got the piece I'm wearing in the pics here at a pawn shop in Santa Fe. It's from the 50's. I only paid $200 (tax included) for it and the chain. The chain is a thick box chain. LOVE this piece!

@twobrokefriends Just looked...you're in NC. You're quite a ways from NM! I can get there in a day from OK. You need to plan a vacation there! We prefer Taos over Santa Fe. Taos is smaller and doesn't seem to be as commercialized as Santa Fe. We rented a house with an incredible mountain view through VRBO and got married there. ❤️

@declynnsgranny my dads Ford Dealership was in a small historical town and it was under water for 2 weeks...Longer than anywhere here effected by the storm. We can not start it over because the building is ruined, our hydraulics and parts are ruined. I could go on...but suffice it to say we have always been well off now ..counting every penny. my dad is 76 he can not start over.

But I use to model and the only thing I truly know and know well is Hair, Makeup, fashion, designers putting together outfits, I have to turn the knowledge I have into a money making venture or I am sunk.....anyway, that's us! We all have such a good sense of humor and that helps us to keep going!

@twobrokefriends Did your dad not have insurance? Maybe flood insurance is something extra. My husband is 77 and doesn't believe in insurance! I keep telling him that he has so much to lose but, he won't listen. I did convince him to raise his limits on his car insurance. He has no insurance on any of his 3 houses.

@twobrokefriends I've been running around all day, myself. All of my appointments were in OKC which is over an hour away. I recently sold my townhouse up there partly because of all of the earthquakes we've been having. You have to have special insurance for that, too and I've been told that the insurance companies don't want to write a policy for it. Insurance companies like to take your money but sure don't like to pay out!

@coledianne Thanks! Stay out of the sun as much as you can. NO tanning!!! Sunscreen...sunscreen...and, more sunscreen. I never tanned much because I don't get very dark and I didn't like to sweat. I'll be 62 in September. The wedding pic was taken 3 years ago in August. Seriously... the sun is not your friend!

@beatibroken It's a plaid dress/duster. I planned on wearing as a long jacket. But, that stomach thing got in the way! I wore it over jeans, belted tank. I just don't like how it looked. I'll try again before I decide to sell it. It was one of those $200+ items. I don't think I ever wore it out of the house. It's SO cute for fall.

@beatibroken The stomach issue is in my head but, it still bothers me. I'm 5'6" 125-128 pounds depending on the day so I'm far from overweight. I don't like it when I sit down and I can pinch more than an inch around the middle!

@beatibroken I really do love it! I've gotten to where I don't buy more expensive pieces on here unless I know the brand and fit... like JW. I know it's not that expensive but, I've been out $80 on jeans ( that should have been perfect!) ...$50 on one dress and $80 on another. I've been sticking to around $20 and under for casual tops. I've bought 2 pairs of Lucchese boots because I know the fit. I don't risk it on regular shoes, though.

hey babe. just wanted to take a moment to comment about ur frustration w/ "boutique" items . maybe not all but a good portion are items purchased off apps/websites like Wish...or so I have noticed .or come from China sellers on eBay . and are usually cheapie cheap..i was tempted to buy a "boutique" item once & a very kind fellow pish posher noticed my comms to the person selling and wrote to me telling me the $60 item for sale was selling on wish app for $5 plus $3 shipping!

yes I did end up buying off the wish app and so grateful 2 the girl whom send me a message cos it was pure 💩💩💩 and had I paid $66.95 or whatever the current shipping cost is I would have flipped! but since it was only $8 I wasn't upset
it did take 3 wks to receive but that $$ I saved was well worth it..i WOULD NOT buy and WILL NOT share most "boutique" item on here ..unless they are hand made items like jewelry or repurposed stuff...

i.understand fully the concept of buying and selling for profit I was and still am.an e down at the dock of the bay seller for more than 15 yrs now.. . but Imho it is deceitful to make a claim an item is what it is not .and wish is not by any standards a "boutique " ..neway it is what it is and such is life..but to save a lot of heartache/frustration & esp $$$$$$ I would suggest checking..

for a little longer wait time (I buy cheap trendy jewelry to give as gifts with people whom shop my closet off wish app and ebay China sellers ... and believe it or not I have gotten stuff from.china in a week sometime less ! usually from eBay.. some wish sellers take a REALLY long time .but alot a wk mayve a little longer ...longest it has taken to get stuff was 5 wks on wish .

I think there's some nice boutique items on here but, I can't tell the difference from the pics. I've decided that I'll only buy if there's at the very minimum a fabric/care tag. Do you think that would help??

I wish that there was a REAL standard for items to be posted as "boutique" ..lol I have even seen brands like talbots listed as boutique 😂🤣 I mean is that even possible?!?! I know the standard according to POSH is that an item must be direct from manufacturer & never been 4sale in a retail 2B consider "boutique" so technically the wish app stuff according to poshmark is boutique but still to me that term is very deceiving.

Hi, thanks for the follow. I saw your question regarding boutique items with out name brand. I've found that most are similar very cheap materials. The pics look nice but quality and sizing is usually bad. I bought a dress once but from different site similar to some of the boutique item it was horrible. I only spent 10 with free shipping. @declynnsgranny Great on the SS! Yes we are at Nicole's..we have two rooms upstairs and a large bath and hope to start building in the spring. We are adjusting to the weather, hot and dry, but the fires have been really bad this year so the skies are terribly smoke filled, as the fires rage on. The temp is supposed to go down out of the high 90s in a week or so which will help.

I have my backdrops hung upstairs in the 40x60 work shop and it is so unbelievably hot that I can only be up there a limited time until the temperature drops. So I'm trying to catch up. I also watch the boys Mon and Wed so Nicole can get lighting shipments out for their business American Party Lights( which is more full time as it has boomed, while Michael works in computer design. @melissalarcher I have a good friend that moved to Yukon a couple of years ago. I lived in Norman for years then Edmond when I moved my girls to Deer Creek schools. I sold my townhome that’s about a mile south of Mercy hospital last spring. 2 of my 3 girls are still up there going to UCO. I rarely get north of Norman but, would love to meet for coffee or lunch sometime!

@melissalarcher I absolutely ❤️ Norman! I imagine that I’ll end up back there someday. You may know a couple of the houses I lived in there. My favorite was Dr Mayfield’s old house on the corner of Boyd and Pickard. Yellow 2 story salt box style with a circle drive in front. Long story but, we moved from there...the coolest house in town to the ugliest...Conway Twitty’s old house on Westwood. It came complete with a recording studio and hair salon!

Nothing fun. We vacation maybe 1 time a year But it may be changing w/his schedule. He’s always working so we don’t get to plan much. He’s going change things soon where we can plan. I would love to keep my grandson. He’s 7hrs away. We have a very strong bond. Each time he leaves we both grieve hard.

@melissalarcher My 78 year old rancher husband refuses to retire and isn’t too crazy about leaving home more than a few days so, we only take one real vacation a year ourselves. Like you, I enjoy just being with him which consists of going with him to feed. I don’t get to do that much now because it’s too difficult taking a 3 year and 16 month old with us. I wouldn’t trade my time with them for anything, though.

We have face time and Christmas break, all of spring break and we did a month last summer then he starts asking about mom. He said he wants us both to live in same house but would sleep with me. @declynnsgranny oh it’s totally heart breaking. It kills me. She finished her last 2yrs of college there took him with her. Got a good job and met someone stationed in the air force there. I can only hope and pray she will come back some day other than that I get him every chance I get. I had him last week for 4 days. I went there and took him to his first week of kindergarten while she finished finals at college a couple years ago. It just totally rips my heart out.

@declynnsgranny yes it’s very difficult. Bread was hard for me and gluten free bread isn’t the same so I don’t eat at bread at all. I have found a whole new way of eating. But occasionally I cheat. As long as it’s just a bite or two I don’t have an attack. But if I eat more or cheat too often I get really sick 😷

@patinashoppe Thanks! I have to take pics outside for the lighting because I’m too cheap to buy a light kit! My husband’s family is from Marshall. Arkansas so, we get there a couple of times a year. I’d love to buy a vacation home there (and/or Taos) but, what’s the point when I can’t get him to take an extended vacation?!

Hi there!!! Hope this finds you well. It was so fun to see you had liked the picture of Nicole and I from last night. She did so well and have 4 lead parts and she hadn’t told us about, plus she danced a can can from Orpheun in the Underworld...what a hoot and was extremely well received. She danced classical ballet for 25 years on a professional level until she was injured so that was the biggest treat of all.

@declynnsgranny oh my goodness I so know the feeling. They keep us busy and I am 11 listings under the desired amount for P ambassador so I need to get cracking. I am having sort of major surgery on the 9th ...2 compressed discs in my neck so I will be laid up for a bit but as I’m able to get around I hope to give my closet some serious attention.

I can look up the day I went to the post office if you want me to. And I think you are right about the “extras” not being hired this year for the post office. I have friends who have done the temp work for extra cash at Christmas for the last 7 years but they weren’t called this year.
