Unfortunately I dont use any perfume detergent in wash or fabric softner in dryer I have sensitive skin and asthma. once you wash it with your detergent before wearing it should pick that scent up. This top was personally mine and yes it was used with pilling throughout like mentioned in description. I apologize that your unhappy with your purchase.
