Hello! Thank you for your offer on the Etiquette book on Sarah’s site today.😊 I’m looking fwd to reading it, or flipping through. Considering sending it to my 32 yr old niece who has 3 boys, my grand-nephews. Neither she nor her boys have ever sent a ty for a gift, or even acknowledged receiving one!! I’m done! If I send it, tho, I may be black listed from the family!🫢

@starzelda7 Not a problem! Whatever I could have done to help. Also, sometimes people need to learn. I say its better to hear it from someone nicely first before it gets them in trouble. I have a family member myself that hasn't been very supportive and puts me down (my choices down) no matter how hard I try to please her and everyone else. This year I may need to put my foot down. A bit worried to do it myself, but I don't want to feel the lack of care so fiercely anymore either.

@starzelda7 Depends. I would say for the grandnephews, depending on age, you can try exaining to them the importance of appreciation. I have learned a couple years back to let go a bit. If a person wants you in their life, they will show it. Maybe when they don't receive something they will reach out, and then you can explain that you didn't know if they liked your gifts, if the gifts got lost. Every situation is different, but I believe you will be able to figure out the best way.

I must learn to let it go & move on.👍🏻 If it were up to me, they’d be out of my life, but my husband still insists we send gifts, so he can do it, since it makes him happy. I think my standards are too high, which results in disappointment for me. 😢 I think you may have an avocation as an advice columnist, to assist with peoples problems! Ha - ever hear of Ann Landers? Thx again for your input!😘
