anna930 @raeberry22 it can seem that way.. even with how part time Poshers have super professional photos.. but there's truly such a diversity on here, you will love it. Just remember to follow and share.. others listings and your own, and that will bring attention and sales to your closet!!

maselan @justmom6 @anna930 I'm a bit confused about the showrooms (not the parties). How do you share items in these areas (example: floral rompers under $50, flats and loafers, etc). When I share, my only choices are My Followers or a party that I'm attending. Am I missing something?

Use showrooms to shop and explore curated listings. Showrooms constantly change and are personalized towards each user who views them., posh picks these no one can share to them

anna930 @raeberry22 yup, ditto on the above- you can't share to them, but if you wish to be featured, take a look closely at the requirements (i.e. Categories, brands, price point) of the items in them and make sure they match. You may not be featured but that's about the only way to try and be

So I already have a question--I'm interested in doing a partial trade. My item is worth more, so she is going to pay the difference. I read an article that said each person marks down their item to at least $3 and then the transaction can be made and shipping labels printed. Does that sound right?

thechicbohemian @maselan I'll give you my honest thought, which is that I personally opt not to trade, as Posh-compliant closets follow the forum guidelines. I know many do, so please hold out for an answer from those experienced. I think they create a $3 listing so a label & subsequent tracking label are provided. However, if you don't receive your item, I'd guess Posh would reimburse you three bucks. ;) Make sense?

maselan @thechicbohemian Oh interesting...so is trading actually not Posh-compliant? I see so many people doing it, I assumed it was pretty common ground. I'd like to remain Posh-compliant, so if that's the case I'll rethink this transaction. Thanks for the advice! ❤️

thechicbohemian @maselan Yes, trade isn't encouraged on Poshmark because - among other factors - of accountability to both end users. For instance, there is no protection for cases where an item isn't as described, or a postal mishap. But realistically, Posh doesn't make money off trades, right? They take a 20% commission -- and by the way -- anything sold under a $15 value, they receive a $2.95 flat rate from. So you basically price trades at $3 to ensure tracking only. That's it. Your call. Many do. :)

maselan @thechicbohemian That makes a ton of sense. I considered the accountability risk but didn't really consider how Poshmark would essentially be "cheated" from the value of the transaction. Ok--I'll talk to her to clarify. She's also pretty new and has never traded so I'm sure she isn't aware of all the details either. Thank you again!!

karint I've only done one trade and it was with someone I'd gotten to know well on here- it worked out great! Personally I'd be a little wary of trading with someone I didn't know much about, i've heard some awful stories. Your idea of marking your item up higher than $3 is a good one, much better than relying on the other person to send you the difference after the fact :) Wish you luck!

Sorry for the delayed response--but it all worked out. 😉 We are both pretty new and learning the ropes, but we bought from each other's closet (I'm trying to lighten my closet load but her Anthro moto jacket was TOO cute to pass up 😜), and made a new friend in the meantime. Unfortunately, due to my Mom's health & the 3 1/2 hr drive between our homes, there's been a bit of a lag. maselan @sassyass76 Since then I've shifted gears to be with her and my other daughter full time. It's been a difficult road but I know it was the right choice. Anyways, since I've found Poshmark it's given me a distraction, and a means to contribute to my family while still balancing the rest of life. What I didn't expect was how much fun I'd actually have doing it and the amazing and supportive people I have met, such as yourself. So just know I support you back.

sassyass76 @maselan I feel so honored to know your story. Thank you!!! So much has happened to me in the last 3 yrs including giving up my career to move to the middle of nowhere & be with my now husband (so, I def understand that!) to a mo long hospital stay this past Feb with an infection which made my kidney 3x's its normal size with a prognosis of almost certain death... And all of this besides my Mother's sudden diagnosis in April 2016.

It just makes anything look that much better and especially with Posh—since most things are preloved—people want to see details as clearly as possible.

maselan @megan8127 And then for styling, think about the item and ask the Who, What, Where questions. Who would want the item, what can they wear it with, and where they can wear it. With a picture, you’re basically evoking emotions by answering those questions for a potential buyer. I could totally geek out on styling all day, but I hope this makes sense! 😆 I used to work in the arts, not so much with retail, but I love Posh cause I can use it as a creative outlet (and make my own hours). ❤️ ❤️

maselan @megan8127 I use a LimoStudio kit from Amazon (I heard a lot about it from other Poshers). It seems to do the trick without spending too much money. Otherwise I mainly use the Photos tools on my iPhone to play around with light and color. It can all be so time consuming, but it’s fun! 😊

It’s so stinkin’ hot today and we spent most of today outside so I have no energy to make dinner and take pics of things I’ve needed to list for so long!! ...so I ordered a pizza for delivery and I’m literally melting on the couch. maselan @loriellelee I just tracked it and I’m not sure why it hasn’t been tracked since I dropped it off on Monday. So far, it has only been returned to me once right before the weekend. There is a chance—I’m not sure why usps does this but they do—where it starts traveling without a scan until it’s final destination. I hope that’s what’s happening. The new label PM emailed me had a “C” added onto the original address—does that sound correct?
