Hi, I'm Rhey! I adore travel, adventure and nature, esp beautiful mountain views. My style is versatility with a pop of fashion! Deep purples, teals, vivid oranges & earthy greens pull at my heart strings. I've fallen in love with a minimal inspired lifestyle, and my closet is filled with beautiful fashion that sadly can't make the journey with me. mtn_soul @dianazamudio Yes, there is SO much to do outdoors in NC!!! I have been ALL over the state exploring everything from the mountains, to the coast to fabulous small towns dotted across the land. Do you know what city/town you'll be moving to yet? I can definitely get you started with great places you'll have to go. In the summer NC is known for AMAZING waterfall destinations! :D And thanks for getting the shorts shipped. I think I'll probably have them tomorrow :)

mtn_soul @dianazamudio Ahh, yep, I guess Fayetteville isn't the most exciting area of NC, but you will be in great proximity to the coast and also Uwharrie Nat Forest which does have good hiking and a pretty lake. My favorite area there is Morrow Mtn State Park which includes Badin Lake. The Sugar Loaf trail takes you to a fabulous peak overlooking the lake.

mtn_soul @dianazamudio On the coast one of my favorite areas is a place called Hammocks Beach State park, and Bear Island which is part of it. Only accessible by ferry or kayak. It's a protected sea turtle nesting ground, and if you are lucky and time it right, you'll have the chance to see adult sea turtles laying eggs or baby hatchling turtles running for the water! <3

I did a backpacking trip down into Havasu which is simply out of this world!! I've also day hiked down to Phantom Ranch and back, but not stayed there. Totally love your photos too! mtn_soul @deeannes_closet Hi Deeanne!! Yes! I am all about everything oudoors, but climbing is my greatest passion 💗 I've been climbing for about a decade and have worked as a guide on and off. A couple years ago I got a tendon injury in my elbow (while NOT climbing, ugh! 😔) and it took a full year to heal. So I've lost a lot of my climbing strength, but I'm really excited about building it back this year!

deeannes_closet @mtn_soul girl! I'm sorry about your injury! It Seems like climbers always get injured from the most random things! I fee your paI and frustration. I got hurt climbing on the most ridiculous thing and it set me back almost 9-10 months. I was miserable. I couldn't climb, hike, or do anything w/my friends the rest of the year. Ever since that I am really discouraged to get back into it. I lost my motivation and along with that all my lean muscle!

deeannes_closet @mtn_soul most of the things listed in my closet was from before I wanted to be outside all the time. Now I spend money on really expensive gear 😂😂 at least there's that! These new things will give me experience and life. My old things I'm letting go are just things. The first picture is from Peru! It's called Vinicunca (rainbow mountain) 😉 it was a hike at 18,000ft! I spent 3 weeks in Peru hiking!

It's interesting you mention about missing out spending time with friends.. omg, yes girl! That is really one of the hardest things about an injury or other circumstance taking you away from it. We build such tight bonds, and it really is a shock to suddenly get removed from that!

mtn_soul @deeannes_closet That Peru trip sounds AMAZING! Thank you for sharing about that! I haven't been, but of course, I know that South America is a climbing mecca, lol! The furthest south I've been is Costa Rica. It was for a biology class though, so we spent a ton of time outdoors, but it was mostly for studying. I would love to go to Peru one day. Some of my friends have, and all of them loved it!!

You are encouraging, they are overcoming and rocking it out, everyone ia feeling great, and then all of a sudden it dawns on them they are like 40 feet in the air, and then they're all like, omg, get me down from here 😂😂

mtn_soul @deeannes_closet My 1st lead, 8 yrs ago, is still fresh in my mind! I got to a part I wasn't sure how to get up, and I sort of spread my body out trying to touch as much rock as possible, haha. I must've been there a while because I finally heard my belayer call up "What are you doing?" I quietly said "Trying not to freak out." I can still see his smile as he said "Welcome to climbing!" 😊😮 I made it to the top without falling, and I was literally high as a kite on endorphins for abt 6 hours!!

I've been so restless lately. I feel I may make a major life change/ move soon. Have you always lived out that way?

deeannes_closet @mtn_soul I feel the same way! I'm always restless. It's the adrenaline that we're used to and when we're sitting still we get cabin fever so fast! Yes I'm a born and raised native of Southern California! I'm only 1 hour and some change from Joshua Tree. It's crazy to believe people travel from all over the world to come climb here and it's my backyard!

emmamarie_ @mtn_soul That's awesome you've been to the springs, have you visited CO often? It's one of my favorite places! Pikes is pretty spectacular, but I'm the type that prefers to avoid the crowds so I mostly target isolated hikes/areas whenever I have the time to drive out to them!😊 If you're ever in the area again I would DEFINITELY put Huron Peak on your list if you haven't checked it out already. It's near Buena vista and one of the best hikes I've done so far.

emmamarie_ @mtn_soul Mixed terrain and crazy views. Relatively difficult hike obviously but minimal risk aside from being several hours out of service even at the trailhead. My background photo on my posh closet is actually from the peak😄 do you do a lot of climbing? I have done rock wall and technical a handful of times and am looking into getting serious about it so I can make it part of my weekly adventures

mtn_soul @emmamarie_ So sorry for the response lag, I can't use Posh at work, haha! I've only been to CO that one time, but I would love to go back! I'm like you- hate crowds! We did Pikes as a mountaineering trip in winter, so it wasn't crowded 😀 I do climb regularly and absolutely love it!! I also really enjoy mountaineering and ice climbing, all of which CO has to offer 😍

mtn_soul @emmamarie_ Ollie is adorable! I had an aust shep mix who was my soulmate adventurer. Smudge ❤ He's the one in the kayak with me above. He was 14 in that photo. I got him when he was 6 months old and we has some really amazing adventures. He, sadly, just passed away before Christmas, he was almost 16. I hope you and Ollie have as great a time as we did!!
