Thank you for your purchase. I was unaware the watch would need a battery thus I didn't note in the description. This watch has been in its original box with the typical film and little plastic piece that you find wedged in the dial on the side. Be assured if I thought it needed a battery I would have noted as such just as I have with my other time pieces. I hope this helps to explain why I was confident the watch was good to go as is. Please keep me posted after you replace the battery.
