Hi! I'm Ruth. Thanks for stopping by!
Contempo dominates my closet; I was one of those "Contempo girls" Loved Contempo mindset; love vintage for who wants to be a cookie cutter copy!?! We were, each <3, created individually by the King's Hand; I believe that transfers to what garbs our bodies as well! Look at the flowers His Word tells us; they will teach us:)
Circumstances dictate that I must find new homes for 4+ generations of family treasure so 90% of my closet is vintage to antique. For an understanding of the vintage philosophy of & more info about my closet check out that listing (Mirrory climbing a palm tree)
Hand Crafted also holds space in Once Upon a Kind as I have always been drawn to OOAK one of a kind treasures and the art I do is just that - ONE of a kind as I do not duplicate. My mom used to encourage me as I grew up not exactly fitting into the crowd that I was the color spectrum dalmation in a litter of black and white dots and that just made it easier to find me. Wise woman she was <3
I encourage you to make an offer or bundle as I do not lower prices OTL. If you 'like' multiples, I will ask you to bundle 2/+ if you'd like a personal offer as I don't read minds ๐. My closet is set at 5%/2 and I do 20%/2 for returning treasure hunters so offers between those parameters stand a strong chance of acceptance.

Lol, I painted it; huge canvas painting for our 1st apartment (rules didn't allow one to paint on the walls!!!, so I made my own wall ;D) It's a mix of oil, acrylic, fabric paint, spray paint, & the absolute must secret ingredient GLITTER ;D I'm honored you like it!!

I give thanks everyday that so far I am not in any pain. I concentrate on how blessed I have been with a good life. A perfect 47 years married, great family and friends and had a lot of fun along the way. I've had it all and consider myself a very lucky lady. Thank you again. You have touched my heart. โคโค

I'll tag you in today's listings :) And there are picture slides that explain or you can ask peatandrepeat (Jo) or anyone bc it's a very helpful group!

My to do list was packed as it was and then my bro asked if I could get his clothes washed (he worked today so the lady he caregives for wouldn't be alone on Christmas) and those THREE ๐ loads of laundry rather eclipsed my list!!! @onceuponakind Well, God has definitely blessed me this holiday season. Friday I expected my nephew & his family (6) for lunch. Turned out he got a bunch more relatives involved as a surprise and every 10 minutes another group would walk in the door. Surprise after surprise. Ended up with 15 people came to be with me.

Then Saturday my friend & her family (9) were coming and she gather up another 5 friends to surprise me. Total of 14. Today next door neighbor & family (plus daughter's boyfriends) came over. Total of 9). Friday, Saturday, & Sunday were complete wonderful surprises. Their visits were the best gifts in the world. Yes, God definitely gave me extra blessings this year.

I honestly lost count so hopefully erred on the side of > rather than < Give the purrrrrr babies a hug :) I have one very sad kitty right now as she got herself into time out by EATING (she has a penchant for fabric) a hole in my favorite blanket!!!

@onceuponakind Oh! We used to have a little orange tabby girl (unusual since orange tabbies are almost always male) who like to eat fabric! She ruined so many things, including a couple of quilts my mom made. But we loved her anyway. She kept my husband on our toes re picking up and not leaving things lying around! She also like to eat plastic bags!

@threetabbycats O wow! Boxey eats plastic bags too!!! And I thought she was an anomaly!! Her mama had her litter of 10 in my outdoor patio vanity (storaged there) and moved all 9 but never came back for B, so I rasied her from day 3 and took her in after mama didn't come back in a week. Thought maybe it was a reaction to being abandoned...so I'm not alone ;) She particularly seems to like my sweaters and kitchen towels. She HAD a hammock but piece by piece she ate it! I gave up after patching

@onceuponakind Vixen particularly liked any clothing and blankets that had her peoples' smell on them. It was so aggravating! I don't mean to scare you, but we had to put her down at age 14 because she got stomach cancer. Try if you can to break your kitty of that habit!

@threetabbycats Does seem possible and I worry about her. Have tried, and just when I think she's stopped, oops....another hole appears. Thanks though for the 411. She hasn't any blankets in her spot, only a warming pad, and I watch when she's laying around on the others' and do try to keep things, as you said, picked up. She hadn't touched this particular blanket for months and last night I had to check on something, maybe only 5 minutes, came back and oh no! Plastic i keep out of the way.

@lorib310 Thank you :) I was very blessed with both my Mom and Dad <3 Though I must admit that when I was little and she kept telling me that I was the colored dalmation in the litter of black and white dots and that God had a plan for that so march to the music He set in me, I was not amused ๐ as it wasn't easy never fitting in, but now, I recognize and applaud both her foresight and wisdom!!!! Sounds as if you were blessed as well with a wise Mom too :)

I prefer comfort too :) I actually wear a 5 or stuff sox into 6s & some 7s so that is mainly what I work on ๐ I have some larger sizes that were my mom's or g'mas or other family members. I do have a pair of Selby pumps 8.5 listed. I'd have to look at them to see if they would be easily painted on & I have a tan & black pair of Cynthia Rowley Eddie booties sz 8 that could be painted on. They were my sis's & she wore them maybe 1x if at all.
