candydarkness @swesley80 thanks for the visit and the shares! In relation to your previous comment about sales, which I see are starting to tick over for you, I think you have wonderful stuff, but the more luxurious items at a fair price point (which yours seem to be) do generally sell through at a slower rate. It's not that you're doing wrong necessarily, it's just that it takes longer to sell a Porsche than a Ford (my car analogy)... But eventually someone WILL buy the Porsche :)

swesley80 @neosexual - thanks again for the response but more importantly the advice! I’ve slowly been dropping prices on most of my items but even that doesn’t appear to be moving anything. I’m new to this still however I see a lot of folks indicating “offers accepted” but how exactly are they creating, for the lack of the correct terminology, “those promos” on their pages?

swesley80 Perhaps if I indicate I am willing to accept all offers and that the list price is not in any way a firm price perhaps that will attract buyers without having to drop prices so low it’s not worth it between Poshmark fees and time effort spent posting items taking pics ect?

swesley80 Lastly, I’ve also noticed some folks have absolutely beautiful backdrops for their items and like food I believe the same rules apply, people “eat” first with theirs eyes when making a purchasing decision. Being u seem to know a lot about Poshmark, are backgrounds an option on the app or are people physically creating them on their own? Becoming a discouraged seller but welcome any unsolicited new perspectives - Sabrina

candydarkness @swesley80 there's a few things you can do to indicate you're accepting offers. 1) in your account info, change one of the lines for website or information to "I accept offers" or something similar. This then shows up in print on your header (where your location and Twitter info is)

candydarkness 2) browse around for someone with a background photo that says something similar that you like or go to Google images. The background is the big wide one. Download the pic. Put it as your background photo from your profile settings.

candydarkness @swesley80 3) how to create one that looks like a listing: find a picture (as above) or create your own using Word/PowerPoint/Paint/Photoshop. Click on sell an item just like you were listing. Use the picture, fill in some words (use sale/custom size, etc if it insists you fill something in) and most importantly, list the selling price as $0.

candydarkness @swesley80 The system flags it as not for sale and creates your listing. You'll see I have one I made for Fall Sale currently. You can delete and change it or sales as often as you wish! Just keep it at the top (as you share your closet, it will fall if you don't share it too). Hope this helps.

candydarkness backgrounds: most intricate ones are using 3rd party apps or programs to create those. Personally I think they're too "busy". Good clear photos are enough. My preference is 1) find picture on internet of a model wearing your item if poss 2) take your pic using flatlay rather than on hanger or form 3) model yourself. Or combo of all.

candydarkness *flatlay: lay item flat on a surface with a plain background (rug, table, poster board) straighten, dewrinkle, or play with positioning (easy when flat!) stand directly over it (I use a step stool) and shoot down. Watch for shadows ;)

swesley80 @summervonholten hi Summer..after some creative detective skills my neighbor's and I have realized ur package somehow oddly enough never made it out the building..it has been sitting at another neighborhors house inadvertently with their other packages..it's unopened still thankfully but it won't be picked up until Monday unfortunately. summervonholten Thanks for taking my order to the post office to go out today. I was afraid posh would cancel the order since it was ordered on the 22nd. I take everything that goes out to the post office myself. Especially since the virus is going on and they blame everything on that for not scanning in items to be shipped out in a timely fashion. I would be scared orders would get mixed up having the mail people pick up my orders for me from the house.
