shepherdsknot @gntschnz Hi, Sally. Yes, she is my third one. Love the breed. I see so many Wirehaired Griffons and I used to mistake them for Wirehaired GSPs. They are bigger though. Do Wirehaired breeds still shed a lot? I heard you have to pluck?

gntschnz @lessforlabels this is my first Griffon and currently have my 4th n 5th pepper/salt giant schnauzers. He’s still a puppy n hasn’t gotten adult coat yet.

gntschnz @lessforlabels time will tell coat wise for me, but I’m on a wig Facebook page n from what I read NO clipping, pluck/ strip if you do anything. Yes to shedding/blowing their coat.

shepherdsknot I am in MD. I see them sometimes but hardly any GSP's. Everyone thinks mine is a Dalmatian?? In PA and in NC where hunting is more prevalent people know the sporting breeds. Our dogs all came from a breeder in NC. Around here we see Labs, Goldens, and a lot of Poodle hybrids. :)

shepherdsknot @gntschnz What do you think of the Griffon personality and temper? I love the GSP because they stay in the yard, easy to train, and want to please. Mine is either asleep on the couch with us or chasing critters in the yard. She cleared 3 adult groundhogs on 6 acres and about 4 if their babies. Good girl!

gntschnz @salatl I have had pepper/salt Giants since 1996. Three at one time! I lost my last male (upper left corner of photo) in January of this year plus the Wirehaired Pointing Griffon on the right I lost Aug 1. I’m done to 1 female rescued Giant. I can’t remember when I last had only 1 dog. They are a wonderful breed. Thanks for stopping by and sharing items. Have a great day!
