As you said, you seldom wore it so it sat in your closet for years, and when you decided to get rid of it, it wasn’t even a thought that it would be soiled since it wasn’t worn much. I get that!! nevadadeb Hi sally!first off OIMGosh your cat is precious! I wanted you to know I squished the comforter flatterand taped the outside container,put it in a thick dryel bag you can carefully cut if you wish ,and then I bought poster board for the outside with lots of tape,so 3layers of protection.! But be careful not to cut too deep :)I thank you again,you’ll love it,I love mine.i had bought two and hubby didn’t want it,lost my receipt lol ..so it’s all good:)

nevadadeb Yes I love cats!I have 2 Siamese :)Although the down is heavy packed ,the comforter is not that heavy...very easy to pull up :)I notice it regulates temp too..I don’t get overly hot ..here outside Reno it’s cold too.
