@sammiesansing hi there Sammie I'm Hillary Marek one of the Poshmark Mentors. I am here to help you get the ball rolling and answer any questions you may have. Looks like you have the hang of it so far. You can tag me like this @hillaryshouston if you have any questions or concerns and I will try to help you out. I don't give advice unless someone asks for it, but I am a full time online retailer for over a decade so I know a few things that might be useful to you down the road. Xoxo 💋 Hillary

@hillaryshouston how do you get people to buy your items? does it just take time?
hillaryshouston
That's probably the most popular question I get asked. This site is like no other I have used. And I have used them ALL at one point or another. This is more work than running for school president and is very similar in the way you should go about it. Cont..

First off you need to set up your closet much like a magazine. You are offering a product that is widely available for much less and in better quality. Not just you all of us are. So tge name of the game is how to make your items stand out from the rest.
hillaryshouston
You don't need to lie or exaggerate and ppl who do get called on it quickly. But you do want to show the best possible reasons why someone would want to buy a particular item. Like let's say you have a pair of missme jeans, don't label them with the reason you don't need them instead try saying that they are your "lucky" pair but your boyfriend hates how many guys check you out when you wear them.

Also in the cover shot use MINIMAL background. Keep in mind as someone is scrolling down the list of all the missme jeans you want to stick out BUT the mind will skim right over anything it needs to take more than a second to register. Just like a record skip you
your brain moves right on to the next easy to prosses picture. I use paintle to remove the background and instamag for a nice layout.

A really good example of an easy to navigate closet is @chicbirdie also make sure you are following a ton of people who have similar listed items to your closet. Most likely they have close style taste to your own and are more likely to buy or share your items.

@hillaryshouston thanks for the shoutout: trial and error but trying to make shopping just as fun as a brick and mortar store! (And check out @flyoverstyle - my retail closet will open this summer!)

@hillaryshouston @sammiesansing you don't have handbags and you signed up there. Scroll down and look at others. Then you MUST go to the info page first and get your closet approved. Thank you Jill. 😃

@jill555 okay sorry haha I'm really new to all of this. I've had a page for maybe a few days!

Yeah I would change the titles to something more indicative to the selling points of the clothing and not why you don't need them. Like I said before think like you are writing a magazine article. Tell us why we need to buy not why you need to sell. Does that make sense?
sammiesansing
yes definitely! @hillaryshouston
