@vtgcovergirl We raise Simmental cattle in TN (pic is at our farm) but have a condo in FL. We live the best of both worlds and feel very fortunate (along with some hard work too! LOL). @vtgcovergirl My dad was a landscaper & very well could have been to your place.He passed away 11/12/18.He loved to travel to nurseries & loved trees & nature.Mom loved traveling with him. He taught us kids to love the beauty of different trees & what he called “Lace in the Sky”.(trees in the winter months w/o foliage or early Spring as they r budding).& oh how he loved the evergreens! What a treat to have this common interest!Thank u for making my evening.Daddy’s girl on the mend 2020.

@lookatmesandrad That’s a good question! Our surname is Alexander, but because it’s been handled thus far by my grandmother and my dad I’m not sure what technical name they use. I always just hear, “the farm.” Weird right?!? 😆 I’ll try to find you on FB. I have two accounts somehow so you’d probably have trouble looking for me lol...🤔

@vtgcovergirl No it hasn’t been returned. I did the original painting and have that painting and we have another sign stored that is just like the one that was stolen. Won’t put that one out until we get a new rod iron post and put it in concrete.

@vtgcovergirl I would be interested in knowing name of the pine farm. Are the trees harvested for the wood or sold as nursery stock for landscaping? My dad and brother have made many trips to NC to buy trees for landscaping. I am wondering if they could have been to the farm. I remember Dad buying from Alexander’s but don’t remember where that was.

@lookatmesandrad How ironic is that?!? Unless he was purchasing trees to be cut for lumber, it wouldn’t be us... Every so many years (only once in my lifetime) they’re harvested, and then eventually the land is regenerated . It looks REALLY bad after harvest though. I was shocked...

@lookatmesandrad Oh I ADORE that... I’m so glad you chose to share it with me. My daddy turned 77 yesterday, and I feel incredibly thankful that he’s still in my life. He had two heart attacks about five years ago and coded. He recovered eventually, but has a multitude of health problems that scare me (seemingly more than they do him...) Anyway, I truly felt blessed that you shared that... 🤗

@barefootmuse Aloha and MAHALO! Love the top. Fits perfectly. Even sleeve length! Very cute. I’ve been meaning to tell you (or maybe I did), my husband and I lived on Maui from ‘94-‘98. We lived in Kihei part of that time and then Kula. Both of our parents were able to com visit us during that time which thrilled us. We loved living there for the 4 yrs but was ready to come back here with family.

@lookatmesandrad Wow! I had no idea! That’s so wonderful that you were able to live there and have the experience! And Kihei is exactly where my family has lived for over 30 years! First in S. Kihei, near Kam 3. Then my parents brought a condo in Maui Gardens, beachside of S. Kihei Rd! My father passed 3 years ago and my Mom has serious health issues so she just rented it out and moved here to be with us (my partner, Natalie and I).

I can’t remember the year it closed for good but it was one of THE spots for locals! They had awesome live music, food and various events. My Dad, Eddie Callahan, started the kitchen there and ran it for many years.

@lookatmesandrad He was an avid golfer and famous Chef on the island, in his retirement years. He also bartender at various places as he LOVED people so much, so it was a perfect part time gig for him! Does his name ring a bell? The first condo they bought when they moved there was in Haleakala Shores (across from Kam 3). Did you all live in that area of Kihei or closer to Maui Gardens area (which is north of Kam 3) and right across from Pizza Madness and next to Times grocery store.
