Hi! I'm Sharon. I am privileged to have an amazing life, filled with travel and adventure. I love to fly (including 210 hours in a 2-seat Cessna 150), scuba dive, climb, hike, kayak, and especially -- figure skate. I am also an avid reader and photographer. I love to dress up. This includes attending frequent formal events and costuming (steampunk, skating, and more). I'm now simplifying my life and passing on dearly-loved pieces to others who will value and care for them as I have.

devi8 @tippy1224 -- I was slammed by a number of private messages within minutes of posting my amazing ballgown -- some messages didn't make a lot of sense, & others wanted me to contact them privately. Two people said that apparently my listing was triggering fraud warnings?? I'm also having a LOT of difficulty navigating the site. Too stressful & confusing for me -- so I deleted my listing & likely won't repost it.

devi8 @tippy1224 -- FWIW, the dress apparently sold 3, maybe 4, times. I couldn't figure it out at all -- messages from these "purchasers" accounted for some, but certainly not all, of the cryptic messages. Multiple people pressured me to "wrap things up quickly". I had no idea what what they wanted me to do, let alone how to do it -- especially because the dress "sold" 4 times. So , overwhelemd, I yanked the dress off the site. I have no idea if my experience was typical or not.

tippy1224 @devi8 OMGOODNESS ‼️ I don't blame you at all. That would freak out anyone, but you can't let them bother you, they're 'trolls' scamming you. Unfortunately, it's a huge pain, but just remember that you NEVER do any type of transaction through their email, personal messaging, etc. If you're in the Poshmark app, it's very easy to know if your item is sold. Poshmark will send you the order details and email you their shipping label. No Worries

tippy1224 @devi8 You did the right thing. If you're nervous about it and you feel uncomfortable, just go to Poshmark support or ask me. Relist the dress, if it does in fact sale then a red flag will appear on your listing that says 'sold'. I'm so sorry that you've had a bad experience, but I promise you, it will get better as you go along and learn new things, heck, I've been here since 2018 and still learning, Lol. It will improve and if you have any other questions please don't hesitate to ask.

devi8 @tippy1224 -- Thanks so much, Tiffaney. One person said she had paid for the dress already but that it was triggering fraud alerts & that I needed to "wrap it up quickly". You may be curious what it was: an amazing vintage Sherri Hill ballgown with sweep train, covered in red lace roses, NWT. I paid $650 for it ~15 years ago; its been in storage ever since. I asked what I paid, $650, & was shocked that apparently people would. Maybe I should re-list for $3K haha

tippy1224 @devi8 Absolutely, you're welcome, Sharon 😊 I hope I was able to help. Noooo Way, they did not purchase your dress because Poshmark would have sent you the order details, and there would have been a red flag across your listing that said 'Sold'. Posh always confirms their payment before they send you any info. you never have to worry about getting paid. That's the great thing about selling on this platform. They take care of everyone.

tippy1224 @devi8 They take care of everything. OMG ‼️ You have to re-list it now because I HAVE to see it ❣️ I know it has to be ABSOLUTELY STUNNING ❣️ Yes, you need to ask much more for it, because Poshmark gets 20% of your sale so keep that in mind.

tippy1224 @devi8 Girl, I just ran the comps on a 'Sherry Hill' ballgown, and you should definitely price yours at a much higher price. I've worked in high-end sales for 29 years, and a little tip I've always used is 'you can always lower your price, but you can't raise your price after listed'. Also, you need to keep a little wiggle room within your price so you can send an offer without losing money.

devi8 @tippy1224 -- Thank you SO MUCH for your help last night! I was thinking about all the amazing clothes & shoes I've donated to charity simply because I needed to clean out my closet & felt that someone else needed them -- or the $$ they could make - far more than me. I'm not ready to re-list the dress yet -- I'm considering listing something far less expensive, to see how Posh truly works.

devi8 @tippy1224 - I'm now thinking that because Posh never sent me a mailing label, & "buyers" continued to contact me -- that everyone last night was a scammer. So thankful that I pulled the listing -- and for your very kind help.
