You're off to a good start. Your items listed are nicely displayed and eye catching, that's always key, to try to catch someone's eye to stop in "your closet" to shop verses all the others trying to do the same.

@shereg thing. is key, any picture I take after the sun sets is awful and distorts the true colors of your item. Causing you trouble down the road with an unhappy customer not liking the true color when they receive it. I had to try many spots in my house to find the perfect room where sunlight streamed in and I needed no additional lights on in the

Also I had a few shipping snags in the beginning like wrong shipping label on wrong purchase😬 "ouch"! I freaked out. I found that most of my beginning questions and issues were answered on the Posh frequently asked questions and it walked me right thru it. A couple of times I had to (phone a friend) to help when it wasn't clear what action was required.

@1chicboutique I have tons of stuff to list! I wish I had considered this site before I took 4 large garbage bags full of new and barely worn clothing to Goodwill lol. I will be posting more as I find the time. I work a full time job and I've been scheduled to work a mid-shift for the last couple of weeks. Also, the white balance is off on my phone and I'm having trouble getting the color right. Maybe I'll switch to my ipad. Thank you for your help 😊

@shereg, here you go: 1) Attach yourself to follow games everywhere. Add all the likes, let you fingers go bananas. I have one on my closet, start there. There are literally 100s on the site. 2) Your white and blue bedspread is horrible for photoing against. Find a dark piece of single colored wood or a white ONLY backdrop. 3) I will msg you on FB, but do not EVER SHARE this 3rd info.

@mjlwinge 1. look up items similar to the ones you have listed, same size. Follow the people who liked those items.
2. There is a party in about 30 mins. Share 3 of your items at a time to the party. Then share items in the party like crazy in between your own shares. You HAVE to gain followers to make sales. And you have to follow people and share their items to gain followers.
3. People who haven't been active in weeks, are dead follows: don't bother with them.

@mjlwinge 4 Just because you are new doesn't mean you have to accept lowball offers. But you also don't want to be greedy. Counter a price you're ok with. It's best to list kind of high to account for offers. 5. Most people will "unlike" your item if you tag and thank them. To thank, share from their closet. 6. Make sure you follow closet compliance. Many poshers won't share or buy from you if you sell things not allowed. 7. List as many items as you can and share your own closet often.

Just wanted to say thanks for the tips I just read here! You and I have been on Poshmark about the same amount of time - I started selling in March the year. But whoa - look at diff in followers (and listings!) Think I need to print your trusty guide and hope for the best, tho I don't know how I could spend any more time here than I do!! BTW, thanks for sharing from my closet - really appreciate it and have done the same from yours! 😃

@pattyshops hey there! I started Poshmark to supplement my income. Now this and E ba y are my only income. It isn't easy. It's very time consuming. I actually spend more time off the site than on. I study and research a lot. Tons of YouTube videos, fb groups, and I source as much as possible!

Well, the work certainly shows - you have a terrific closet! I'm basically trying to seriously purge my closet of things I don't wear! Hubby and I moved to take care of my folks and really downsized our house, so that's why I got started. Problem is, too many temptations here! I've tried the "*bay" too - slow going! Thanks for tips!

@pattyshops I Try my very best not to look at what I'm sharing. I turned my sizes off so I can keep myself from shopping unless I'm looking for something specific. One tip I do have, for popular brands like free people and anthropologie, a lot of people search by the name of the item. For instance, your beautiful MuMu top is called the Lenz Paisley Tank. They will still find yours, but it won't be at the top ☺

Oh gosh, thanks! That is a good point! I've had people ask me what pattern some of my Lilly Pulitzer is - "duh, don't know, just liked it and bought it!" I'd better get on the ball with more research, too! And certainly need to get some Anthropologie and Free People items, tho hate to buy anything, even "thrifting," until I clear some of this closet out - agh! 😱

@pattyshops if your lilly has a season tag in it, like Dec 15, it's likely spring 2016. So if you pinterest search for patterns in spring 2016, that app will actually take you to every picture of that pattern and find the name. I just discovered this over the weekend when my sister in law asked me to sell hers. Oh, and to gain followers go to the suggested users, pick the top one and follow everyone who followed her. It only shows her most recent 1000. Keeps you from following inactive users.

@pattyshops I don't have the time to go through every closet that follows me. But I do try to make sure I unfollow if they have crazy non-compliant items showing up in my feed. "For exposure" listings drive me nuts, and then like household items, dogs... lol. But I do go to my followers list once per day and follow them all. And I'm glad to help. My allergies are nearly unbearable today, so I haven't done much work anyway.
