sherrycastro @bbonini I like living in Prescott Valley, I came from Cal. 15 years ago & have not regretted it Depending on where you come From the cons are Snow, wind & dryer air & it is a desert At first your skin can feel dry. It may take a little getting used to the lack of moisture Except in the summer The pros are clean air, less traffic,

sherrycastro Its beautiful here it does not get over 100°, average runs around 89 nice in the summer due to monsoon rains which can cool it off, Our town is growing, bringing more jobs, minimum-wage is $10 an hour. There is lots of places to hike, bicycle, camp. Prescott is a great place to live too! The elevation is around 5600 feet the snow stays a little longer there but you have lots of National Forests and Pine tree’s Downtown Prescott is very quaint

bbonini @sherrycastro thank you so much. I'm originally from near sf in cali and have been in Oregon the last 8 years and I'm over it. I'm looking at Prescott due to a little cooler summers and more trees. It's been in my mind for the last 3 years to move there and I'm wanting to make the plunge this year. Hopefully get out there in the next couple months

sherrycastro @bbonini Funny you should ask that question, they Town of Prescott Valley just did a water testing and I was one of the volunteers are water is great I live in the viewpoint Community which we have well water that is filtered.

Prescott Valley has a little Rolling hills and some Mountain View’s Vs PrescottIs in the mountains. Oh did I mention that we have beautiful sunsets here

We have some chain restaurants,Olive Garden, Chili’s, Mexican restaurants, most of the fast food restaurants Thai restaurant, Texas Roadhouse, And Cracker Barrel I think we have a variety I’m on my way out to go to dinner how funny is that!

bbonini @sherrycastro Morin sherry. Hope you had a good weekend. Random question for you. How bad are fires there? Are they a big threat every summer? I just watched the movie only the brave, great movie, super sad, didn't realize it was about prescott. And now I'm worried that fires are crazy there. We get a lot here but never really near our town. Just the smoke that sits in this valley most the summer. It's horrible and kills our summer fun

sherrycastro @bbonini Hi Britney, sorry for the delay to your answer, I was out of town for several days and did not bring my iPad with me, about the question you asked about he fires. We have never been threatened with fires near our home in Prescott Valley or Prescott. The county has scheduled control Burns meaning that they burn all the brush or dead trees so that they don’t catch on fire, I think that’s due to the monsoon rains, so I hope that eases your mind.

I was talking with my accountant over the weekend, taxes, ugh, and she was saying that there's a huge flux in the housing market with property taxes changing a lot thru the year due to AZ being a snowbird state and a lot of people loose their houses cuz property tax rises so much during different seasons. That worries me. Is that true

sherrycastro If you're not a homeowner you don't pay taxes if you rent. If a home is sold in the current market then yes you pay the current rate I believe that is no matter where you go!
